COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is only for the Struise version! If you had this after 2015, you probably had the version brewed at De Proef. Please rate accordingly!

Our brew-master was born and raised in Newport Belgium. In the early days around 1600, a lot of women were accused of witch craft and got burned alive... Early 2010, the city council of Newport asked Urbain to develop a session beer for the two yearly evocation of a Newport witch called Jeanne Panne. Jeanne was as ugly as can be and had copper coloured hair. Elements enough for Urbain to create a rather exciting ale whom we named "Roste Jeanne".

Urbain Couteau: The brand "Roste Jeanne" was deposed behind our backs by the city council early 2013. To avoid any legal battles, we stopped brewing the beer. This beer is now brewed in contract by the city council of Nieuwport at the Proefbrouwerij in Lo-christi Belgium.

At Hopishop 2016. Aroma of malt, raisin and vanilla. Tatse has soft caramelised malt, raisin and amber malt. Has gotten old I suppose.

Hieman utuinen, keskiruskea olut melko runsaalla vaahdolla. Pieni vaahtokerros j oluen pinnalle. Tuoksu maltainen, karamellisen makea, tumman hedelminen ja hieman siirappinen. Maku maltainen, hedelminen, varsinkin luumuinen sek rusinainen ja loppupuolella on aika runsas pistelis mausteisuus vallallaan. Keskitytelinen suutuntuma, samoin hiilihappoisuus.

9/3/2010 11:06:34 AM Bottle from Beer Temple. Dark amber brown body with tan head. Malty and caramel nose. Nice and toasty with malts, caramel, cookies and dark fruits. Enjoyable and a nice relief from the supermarket beers... Well done!

Bottle at home. Pours rich ruby with big white head. Aromas of dried fruits, caramel, candy sugar, biscuit, berries, bread, yeasty funk. Taste is medium sweet and medium-light bitter, a dry bitter tinge to the finish. That Belgian yeast aroma is great and lingers nicely. Medium body, smooth, soft, bubbly mouthfeel. A tad of alcohol present. Lovely.
