Bottle at home, thanks to Belgbeergeek for the trade, 11/01/14.
Hazed orange amber with a good sized off white covering that thins but stays for the show.
Nose is light musty fruit stall, candied sugars, bitter orange, caramel, earthy hops.
Taste comprises caramel, sugars, bitter dark fruits, hoppy backnotes, earthy, dirt.
Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, well tempered sugars and lightly musty in the closure.
The 12% never really came into play - easy enough drinking affair but lacked a little depth.
A few years past its prime perhaps but still a drinkable number. kermis (14201) - The Hague / Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - OCT 3, 2013
Bottle shared thanks to Belgbeergeek for the trade. Pours murky brown with a tan head. Aroma of boozy caramel, that strong Belgian beer with a few years on it effect, also a little herbal taking the edge of the heavy sweetness coming out in the flavour. Full bodied with flat carbonation. No idea what it was like fresh, but very nice with some age. deanso (10178) - Chiang Mai, THAILAND - OCT 3, 2013
33cl bottle courtesy of and shared with Kermis.
Thin creamy off white head. Aged Stille Nacht style aroma. Murky amber pour. Herbal Stille Nacht aftertaste. Very good jbeatty (1255) - New York, USA - JUL 30, 2013
Backlog review, tasted early 2011. Pours hazy, burnt copper with thin head, abundant carbonation apparent. Fruity aroma, honey, citrusy hops in the background. Taste initially sweet, fading to pleasant bitterness with light honey to provide balance, alcohol not very noticeable. Medium body, becomes fairly smooth once the carbonation has a chance to die down. Decent. olio (10431) - Tampere, FINLAND - MAR 16, 2013

Pours a cloudy orange colour with a white head. Aroma of malts, dried apricot and some bread. Flavour of caramel malts, nettles, dried fruits, dough-like yeastiness and grassy bitterness. Medium bodied, slick mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Alcohol is well hidden. Finishes sweetish and grassy. Decent.
330ml bottle from Bieresgourmetlaiti (8505) - Tampere, FINLAND - MAR 16, 2013
Gusher alert! Pours dark orange with a foamy white head. Aroma of malts, notes of honey, spices, berries and ripe fruits. Taste is malty, stingy and bitter with hints of tart berries and fruits. Finish is malty, stingy and dry with hints of alcohol and tart berries. Unbalanced, quite messy.

100. rating for this beer!
Exploded from the bottle in the form of a foam. Aroma is sourish with apricot, some berries, nettles and biscuits. Flavour is somewhat tart with nettles, apricot, berries, biscuits and fruity notes. Hides the ABV rather well. Decent.
(From notes 19 Oct, 2012) Bottle. Off-white (on the beige side) fluffy head. The beer is a hazy amber color. Aroma is some peach, fruity hops, sugar. Flavors peach and slightly bitter. Pretty soft on the palate. Finish is dry, bitter and some alcohol burn.gEUS (1637) - Linden, BELGIUM - OCT 2, 2012
Overall, the aroma is nice, but otherwise a mediocre brew. I would have liked the flavors to have been more on the sweeter side. Unpleasant bitterness and some strange flavors (hard to specify). Might have to try this again to confirm, though.
shared by BelgBeerGeek during the epic beer tasting - pours dark orange with a white frotty head; aroma of caramel and clear madeira. Medium body, with the alcohol coming clearly through. Not my favourite Struise beer.
