Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, caramel, toffee and butter notes, moderate to heavy hoppy, grass, citrus, hop dusty, sour - tart. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet, light to moderate acidic and light heavy bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090306]

33 cL bottle. Pours hazy orange with a small white head. Mild fruity and citrusy hops aroma, solid butterish note too. Flavour is mild fruity and hoppy. Subdued caramel malt base. Smooth peachy and light citrusy flavoured. Dry and bitter flavoured finish. Flavour does hide the diacetyl, it is distinct but somehow it doesn’t disturb the impression overly much.

UPDATED: NOV 13, 2009 Bottled. Thanks a lot Carlo and Urbain for this bottle that I got for my 40th birthday. A hazy golden beer with a big lazing orangey head. The aroma has strong notes of spices among them nutmeg, alcohol, fruit - peaches, and some yeast. The flavor is sweet with notes of spices - coriander, nutmeg, and others, malt, caramel, yeast, and fruit, leading to a dry finish.

Bottled (thanks fonefan!). Golden colour with particles floating around. Mediumsized foamy head. Aroma is hops, some grass and some herbal notes as well. Flavour is quite much the same along with some sweet malts and mild yeasty notes. Pleasantly balanced. Big grassy aftertaste.

Bottled, thanks Pallieter85! Cloudy golden, small head. Buttery sweaty grapefruit aroma. Dryish and full bodied. Fruity with syrupy mouthfeel. The hops are tired by now, but the finish remains really bitter.

Bottle courtesy f GT2, saved in his beer cellar with a small sticker that says "share with Gene." Probably the most thoughtful thing that anyone has ever done for me in my entire life. Seriously. Cloudy amber color, fizzy white head. Aroma of malt and bread. Taste is very malty, with a profile similar to Rosste Jeanne I think. Nice.

Papsoe (25062) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - NOV 12, 2009
Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of Ungstrup. Pours a cloudy deep amber with a solid and creamy off-white head leaving a neat lacework. Intense fruity aroma with lots of esters and some phenols. Medium body, fruit, yeast and an edge of cough syrup - a little caramel also. Rather hoppy finish where the alcohol also becomes rather evident. Not a bad beer at all but not as complex as the best from Struise. 121109

Cloudy orange brown beer. Foamy white head. Dry palate, slightly soft. Frothy in the mouth. Carbonation is low but provides bite in the finish. Bitter hop dominates some sweet biscuity malt. Finshes soft and dry with more bitter hop and a little peach. Doesn’t feel like 12.0%!!
