2013 vintage bottle shared. Thanks Jon! Dark fruit, honey, molasses and cinnamon aromas. Sweet on the palate with some light fruit tartness. Port-like in the finish. Dry and dark fruit forward. Nice. vtafro (7444) - Wayne, New Jersey, USA - JAN 23, 2016
2013 bottle. Brown hazy pour with beige head. Spice, port, yeast, dark plum like fruit aromas. Dark plum like fruits, yeast, light barrel and I guess port notes, beer really melds well. TimE (6130) - Tokyo, JAPAN - JAN 23, 2016
Hazy amber color. Very sweet nose with honey, band aid and a bit of port. Slightly sour. Not that great, but ok finish. RichardGretton (4787) - Leicestershire, ENGLAND - JAN 17, 2016
Bottle. Amber reddish beer with a reasonable head. The aroma is fortified and malty, and the flavour is very malty with a port like quality and some heavy bitterness. Overall a nice strongly flavoured Belgian beer.

Pours a dark golden amber with fluffy head. Aromas of fruit, malts, and some woody notes. Flavors of sweet malts, light fruit notes, and a touch of port.

Struise beer in Struise glass: it’s been a long, long time. Bottle off the in laws for Christmas. 2013 version. 317 calories a bottle- bonus point for the info. Only a sliver of cake or a 20min trot, innit? Pours high and excitable bronze with a pocked off white foam. Aroma of meat juices, perfumed crushed seeds out of the curry drawer, caraway, cocoa dusted plum, strawberry chew as it warms, bathfoam and creamy fig. Silken mouthfeel despite the fizz, minimal alcohol smoothed over with sugar, subtle ingratiating stone fruit robed in toffee. The aroma edges the flavour which is too smooth for its own good; all yeast, plump mallow body and muscovado. I don’t know..the kind of beer that got me into beer and it feels heretical and ungrateful to say it, but it’s kind of bland.

Sencillamente, esto es lo que se debe reconocer como una cerveza maravillosa. La mejor cerveza navideña que he probado esta temporada. rand (1820) - SWITZERLAND - JAN 9, 2016
Bottle 33 cl from Amstein - St-Légier (CH). Coppery beer with a beige, low persistence and rough foam. Complex aromas of malt, caramel, dry fruits, vanilla and vinous notes of Porto. The taste is remarkable and full bodied, complex with toffy, spices, Porto, stewed fruits, orange and zest, date, raisin and vanilla. Nic balance, neither too sweet nor too spicy, there are notes liquor-like and a grassy bitter. ChtiBreizh (456) - Rennes, FRANCE - JAN 8, 2016
33cl bottle. 2013 vintage, bottled on July 2014. Then probably spent 12+ month on the store shelf. Light amber with a fluffy head. Malty, floral, red fruits. Sweet with a drier and spicy, alcoholic finish, some wood. Lightly sour and astringent. Average carbonation, sticky mouthfeel. OK. hawthorne00 (4114) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - JAN 6, 2016
Reddish amber with a large cream head that settles to a fat coat. Aroma is a jumble but charming: sultanas, orange peel, sugary dough, apricot jam, booze. Fruitcake batter with an a twist towards Panettone . 8+ Not unexpectedly, very sweet. Has the unusual creamy texture for a strong beer that "normal" Tsjeeses has. Stone and dried fruit, grapes, a hint of tannin, Chrismassy spices. Dries out just enough at the end. Delicious.
