Bottle. 2011 vintage. Thanks to mike12da. Sweet nose, stewed stone fruits. Hazy apple juice color. Extremely sweet initial, pears, peaches, condensed sweet apples. Fruity and fumes mid-palate jumps up into the sinuses. Small tang in finish. Rich and full. Super sweet and packed with flavors.

Aroma: sweet fruits and caramel with notes of raisins. Flavour: dark ripe sweet fruits and berries with caramel notes and a dry bitter finish. A heavy thick mouthfeel. Colour: fedbrowb with an offwhite head. From: Voldby Købmandsgård Nov. 2015.

SinH4 (6265) - Garching b. Mnchen, GERMANY - DEC 29, 2015
Copper color with big white head. Aroma is slightly grainy, spicy yeasts, sweet candied sugar. Taste is candied fruits, definitely port barrel influence, good balance, spicy finish. Stays pretty dry, despite the sweet richness, and not too crazy aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel. Excellently balanced, and excellent interplay between the base beer and the barrel. Just the logical extension of regular Tsjeeses.

Pours hazy dark caramel color with off white head. Aromas of caramel, candi sugar, and Belgian yeast. Sweet caramel and doughy flavors with some spices and hint of the port barrel. Medium body with lively carbonation.

Bottle. Poured clear orange copper color with a huge frothy off-white head that lasted with excellent lacing. Complex spice, dark fruit and wood aroma. Medium to heavy body with a smooth sticky texture and soft carbonation. Medium dark complex sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration with a small alcohol bite. This is a solid seasonal beer.

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

'13 bottle. The pour is a lighter hazy orange. The aroma definitely has some barrel to it, less malt. The taste is more smooth that the bourbon aged one, and has more overall character. Solid beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Orange color, taste of caramel complex and finnish of porto. Delucious ! I want another one!

A 330ml bottle of 2013 vintage, bottled on July 2014 with a best before date of 15th August 2019 and poured into a Duvel tulip glass. It poured a cloudy dark orange bronze colour with a fluffy two finger light tanned head with good retention that leaves nice spotty lacing. Aromas are sweet and fruity plum, apple, grape, fig and red wine with hints of caramel and vanilla. Tastes of sweet apples, orange, port, grapes with oak woody notes and caramel malts. Very rich, medium bodied with medium but strong prickly carbonation. Overall, I wish I had the original non barrel aged version of this to compare to. However, this Port BA version is very good. Even at 10% the alcohol is well hidden and being Port BA I was a bit worried that it would be too sweet but its actually at a good level. A great barrel aged Belgian Strong Pale Ale that I would get again next year!

Quite thin white head. Golden bronze colour. Some berries, red wine, caramel, and raisins in the aroma. Some caramel in first taste. The alcohol of the port, raisins and sourness of the berries in the middle. Some spicyness with the sweetness of the port and caramel again in the afterraste. Medium bodied, nicely balanced, medium carbonated, good belgian strong ale.
