From cervezasespeciales. In Teku glass. Watching Sons of Anarchy 6x01. The first case in which pass for barrel improves an already great beer, making it more balanced, less alcoholic. It has also a much better aspect than the 2012 non-BA version I took yesterday

Segueix la tnica elegant, sutil i obra mestra. Potser la millor de la saga.

Oh I love this one! Nice deep red-brown color, great head of foam and funny bottle. The taste is nice and spicy, sweet, fruits and vanilla. Very complex but good balanced. You can find some sweet and warming port notes in it. I will get more of these for sure!!

Not entirely sure which of the three "Reservas" I had, the beer list just said "Tsjeeses Reserva 2013", and since Oak Reserva retired in 10, and the Cherry notes on the flavor, Im guessing its the port barrel version. Cloudy copper under a thin foamy off-white head. Nose is fruity and sweet, like boozy cherry meets herbal earthy honey. Flavor is big, bold, boozy and sweet. Lots of alcohol esters, honey, oak, cherry, herbal tones, and a earthy boozy finish. Not too hot, just tastes like strong ale. With honey and spices.

opalescent dark amber colour, moderate sized yellowish-beige-ish off-white head; aroma of dried fruits, toffee, woody notes, hints of vanilla, herbal notes, wallnut and port wine; taste of dried fruits, vanilla notes, caramel, some wallnut, liqueur notes, and port wine; amazing Belgian strong ale

Orange color, taste of caramel complex and finnish of porto. Delucious ! I want another one!

Pours a beautifully amber-brown colour with a creamy head. Nose has some citrus and just a hint of red wine/port. Taste gets sweet fruits, hoppy bitterness and alcohol giving it balanced complexity. Can’t really get the port in the taste.

Another great Tsjeeses experiment, this time matured on port wine barrels. Coarse but stable, yellowish white head, warm orangey blonde colour with pinkish hue (probably the red port wine speaking), initially clear but hazy with minute yeast bits floating around after adding the deposit. Complexely perfumed, strong and very inviting aroma of syrup-conserved peaches, cloves, pineapple, meat broth, whisky, wodka, old port wine, moist wood, vanilla, gingerbread, black pepper, candi syrup, apricot, pink grapefruit, orange peel. Apricot- and orange-like onset, very vividly fruity, after which you are sucked into a complex parcours of caramelly and honeyish, profound malts, a soft and full mouthfeel, spicy ginger, pepper and cloves hints and eventually a leafy and peppery hop bitterness, long and dry, accompanied by a pleasantly and elegantly warming port-like alcohol effect. This is not a tripel anymore, this is a full-fledged barley wine, and a very good one at that. One of Struises great masterpieces.
