In May 2015, Bart kind of persuaded us to mature Black Albert on some very special barrels we never had before. He simply dropped us off some genuine Grande Champagne Cognac barrels from Michel Forgeron. Only one condition, let the beast rest for one year on the barrels, no questions asked. Time came to bottle condition this beauty and enjoy. Limited edition 1000 bottles.

Bottle 0.75l at Uiltje Brewery. Thanks Nick for sharing this one. 29.01.2018. Pour it dark color with no head. Aroma cognac, some leather feel. Taste starts with lots of vanilla, cognac woody feel really present, soft carbonation I would ever put a little bit more but it's fine like this as well, some dried dark fruits, tobacco just a pinch, medium body, sticky, long finish. Nice!

Bottle 750ml. @ home.

[ As Struise Van Pouck Stout ].
Clear dark dark brown black colour with virtually no head, a tiny small light brown head. Aroma is heavy malty, roasted, chocoalte, wood, alcohol - cognac, dark fruit. Flavor is heavy sweet and light bitter with a long long duration, wood, chocolate, cognac, alcohol, dried fruit. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is almost flat, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20171230]

Bottle. Colour...jet black with no head. Nose...molasses, dark chocolate and gingerbread. Palate... what the??!! Where’d the nice nose go?? This tastes like polystyrene, Cheracol-D, charcoal and probably polychlorinated bi-phenols. Oh! There’s a touch of molasses on the far back palate ( hence the "1" for "palate".

Pours viscously to black beer with reddish highlights and a small, slowly fading rust-tan head. Fruity notes, plums, dark berries; burnt, liquorice, dark toast, alcohol, quite complex indeed. Burnt/roasted and sweet, lots of liquorice, again dark plums, gingerbread. Alcohol, esters. Reasonably dry finish. Very rich, fiery and voluptuous ; long lasting flavours; medium carbonation. Backthroat huge alcoholheat. Decadent. Just a tad too much liquorice - wonder if that would diminish with some years aging?

Bottle. Boozy marzipan, dark fruit, caramel. Taste is great, boozy, thick, rich, dark chocolate and coffee. Decent! Some kind of cherry sweets at the end. Very nice, bit of smoke, bit of meat.
