OleR (4804) - Oslo, NORWAY - JAN 1, 2014
Sampled from keg. Golden brown with a tall sand-colored head. Tinned fruit and a light bready and caramelly malt aroma. Full-bodied. Smooth and warming in the mouth. Flavor has a refined sweetness, both fruity and malty. Dried yellow fruits and light caramelized malts. Notes of liqueur and honey. Some bitterness in and alcohol heath in the finish. Likeable

Habanero (4795) - Tranbjerg, DENMARK, DENMARK - DEC 22, 2013
Bottled. Pours hazy deep amber with a small tan head. Aroma of dark fruits, caramel and toffee. Sweet flavor that ends up slightly bitter and alcohol notes. Full bodied, oily text and soft carb. Quite different but very nice.

alexsdad06 (10638) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - DEC 21, 2013
Draft at Dutch’s in August ’13. Pours a deep amber brown color with a large dense yellow beige head with thick lace. The aroma and flavor have fruit, oak, yeast, spicy rye, a mild tart character, yeast, caramel, and some alcohol to the finish. Interesting beer that was quite different than most tripels.

9/XI/13 - on tap @ Struise Schooltje - BB: n/a (2013-1050)

Clear deep amber to red brown beer, creamy beige head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: lots of cuberdons (sort of forest fruit candy), very sugary, caramel, bubble hum, honey. Aftertaste: some alcohol, sugary, bitter as well, citrus, caramel, very malty, hint of chocolate, sourish touch, bitter ending, alcohol.

75cl bottle, shared with Mathieu87. APPEARANCE: clear dark blond beer, nice stable off white head. NOSE: grains, sweet, fruity, some alcohol. TASTE: alcohol, liquorice, herbs. Decent, but not worth the high price!

Bottle. Lost my initial rating, but was brownish, rye flavoured. Didn’t seem much like a tripel. Not that easy to finish.

Thx! to tderoeck. Tasting glass draft @ ’t Schooltje. Dark red amber, way darker than the new XX which we had alongside it. Tanned head only on the sides. Nose is pure cuberdons, huge sugar, caramel, very sweet,... Taste is pure cuberdons, lots of candy & very sweet, pure suar, caramel, toffee, sticky,... Full body. Pretty simple & very sweet, bit too much to drink even a sample of, not a bad beer but would expect a bit more.

draft // Struise tasting glass @ Kulminator // fox / red fruits amber with a tanned / beige creamy, nicely lacing white head // smells very sweet, quite liqueur-like, lots of spices & other grains, some rye, touch dark & black bread // alternative grains upfront, rye, darker bread, lots of spices, sweet, liqueur, cognac, candy sugar, touch syrup like quality, sweet, spices, finish, quite boozy at the back, more than you definitely expect from a 10 % beer // despite the other grains structure, quite, creamy smooth, touch jam feel to it // definitely in line with what appears to be Urbain’s new style // extremely different from any other tripel I have had so far, difficult to even think of this as a triple, far from bad

TheCametron (2480) - CZECH REPUBLIC - OCT 10, 2013
Bottle. Pours cloudy Amber with an off-White head. Lots of yeast character. Banana wheat phenols with plenty of Rye. Dried fruit and a sticky sweetness throughout with just a little touch of spice. Very nice.

phaleslu (10546) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - SEP 15, 2013
Draft at Chappy’s Tap Room, served in a tall stemmed glass. Pours a hazed, somewhat deep reddish amber with a ring of off-white head. Looks more like a quad to me. Notes of rye, caramel, dark fruits (figs, raisins, dates), boozy cake, nuts, banana- lots of sweet malts. Medium-full bodied, with a chewy mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Drank more like a rye quad than rye tripel in my opinion. Very good beer, either way.
