2016 edition, 1.5dl on tap at Craft & Draft, Amsterdam, during De Struise Brouwers tap takeover. Nose is dried fruits, biscuits. Body is hazy copper, head is very small, beige, mostly diminishing, fair lacing. Aroma is dried fruits, biscuits, white chocolate, spices, herbs, glue. Medium to heavy sweet, light bitter, medium fruity sour. Finish is long lasting fruity chemical medium sweet sour. Full body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Quite heavy, strong flavor, bit too sweet for me, not bad, special.

Bottle (vintage 2013, bb 30/05/2019, Lot 100506142013). Pours a dark amber with a small fizzy head. Aroma has a light metallic hint at first, sweet candy sugar, rye, dark fruits, alcohol. Taste is over moderate to heavy sweet, moderate bitter, alcohol, rye, dark fruits, some candy sugar sweetness towards the end, long sweet candy sugar aftertaste with warming alcohol. Not bad.

Bottle. Dark amber and bit hazy, small white head. Aroma of toffee, rye bread, brown sugar, some banana. In taste medium sweet, lots of dried fruits, nice caramel finish. Medium body, moderate carbonation, warming finish and dar less seet that I expected. Complex and very drinkable.

Gedronken in de stropop. Zoals eerdere degustaties van de struise en hemelse verrijking. Lekker vol bier met een uitgesproken gekarameliseerd aroma, bittere zoet. Heerlijk maar exclusief!

Hazy amber beer with off white head. Massive complex aroma of bubblegum, flowers, honey, notes of sweet hard cheese and alcohol etc. The taste is very sweet. Less complex than the aroma. Full body. Good beer but the taste is too sweet I think. I like the aroma.

from la Mise en Bire - cloudy brown beer with no foam; aroma of ripe fruits, molasses, toasted; full-bodied, thick and very sweet, light grainy, long finish of figs, molasses, raisins and ripe fruits again - huge!

Had it many times and forgot to rate it. I guess pleasure first. From memory impressions its a very complex aroma of toffee, spice cake, candied and dried darker fruits. Oily, medium thick with delicate carbonation but big head. Quite sweet but not cloying. Also lots of complexity there since this isnt one dimensional sweetness. Some sour and delicate bitter orange finish. Really good stuff.
