COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Noordhoek Ostrich Farm and Resort has been offering visitors an oasis of silence, tranquility and green pasture since 1997. In 2001 we began offering our guests fresh, homemade ale, "Struise Witte" was born. The dutch word for "ostriches" is "struisvogels" or "Struise", but the same word can also mean "sturdy" or "robust". This "Robust White" is a living wheat beer of high fermentation, unfiltered and unpasteurized. Brewed with natural ingredients, bottle conditioned in 33 cl bottles.

Butelka; piwo wyleciało z butelki. Barwa cytrynowa, piana bujna ale opada szybko. Aromat kwaśny, octowy, pszeniczny. Smak podobny. Coś poszło nie tak.

330ml bottle from the International Beer Collector monthly 6 pack. Struise Witte and I are not off to a good start as I pop the crown cap and immediately lose half the beer to gushing all over my floor. Very pale cloudy straw colour with some sediment. Aroma of straw and wheat grain with some lemon zest and coriander. The taste is non-offensive - white bread, lemon, light honey and coriander. Light body makes it refreshing and drinkable. My perception may be unfair from losing half the beer to the carpet gods but this is a bit of a disappointment from my favourite brewers.

Bottle. Typical Belgian white, slight honey color, small foam head. Aroma: fresh orange juice, tangerine, spices, white grape. Taste: zero carbonation, orange returns, grains. Very mellow blend, resembles a soft drink. Could be better.

330mL bottle from Internation Beer Collector BB 06/2018 Striking looking witbier - pale straw with uniform haze, holds a creamy white head. Subdued aroma; grainy, husky, cereal malts, hay, white pepper phenolics, touch of hard cheese/lactic twang, bit of ripe pear & apricot esters. Body somewhat lean, lifted carbonation, bit prickly with a slick, slightly creamy texture (oats?). Reasonably restrained on the palate - good measure of husky, bready, cereal malts, some porridgey notes in there, with pepper & minerally phenolics and soft ripe fruits. Finish is dry, bit doughy, somewhat lingering lactic/soap note with a mild bitterness. Not really my cup of tea; bit of a let down from such an amazing brewery.

33cl bottle at home. Pale yellow with a small white head with low retention. Low to medium body with moderate carbonation. Nice bitter tones with a somewhat sour sweetness. Citrus, lemon, herbs and grass. Quite a tasty witbier.

Hard to write down something. It’s a light white beer which doesn’t have the typical taste of white beer. They sold this as a refreshing beer, and this is what it is. Don’t try only for the taste, you might be disappointed.

Belle robe trouble, jaune pâle. Nez élégant sur des notes fruitées, épicées, levurées et houblonnées. Bouche assez discète, bulle fine, aromatique peu marquée, finale amère. Une blanche plus simple.
