W aromacie karmel, suszone owoce, nie czuć beczki. W smaku dość słodkie, czuć alkohol.

330ml bottle, 2013 vintage, bourbon barrel aged, BB 26 Jan 19. Dark murky brown with small light tan head, low carbonation. Aromas of cherries, sweet banana bread, some port wine character, light oak tannins, smooth heady booze. The spicy rye is apparent in the taste, but somewhat mellowed by a few years age, along with cherries, strong port and sherry, a little banana ester and the strong warming booze. Pleasant hop and oak tannin bitterness to balance all the sweetness, with just a little dryness as well. Full bodied and spicy. That this beer is outside advertised styles is moot - this is an expertly crafted and outstanding beer.

Alengrin (5779) - BELGIUM - OCT 25, 2015
Draught at Antwaerps Bierhuiske. Very thin, off-white head retaining well on the edges, very dark chestnut brown colour. Rich and sweet aroma of caramel, port, cocoa, whisky, marzipan, liquorish, coconut, banana, pepper, dried flowers, bourbon; rich, opulent taste, very sweet, candyish even in the onset, coconut and marzipan accents, dried banana and liquorish candy, thick caramelly and chocolatey maltiness, smooth and filling, warming aftertaste of whisky-like alcohol, wood and spicy hops, drying. Very rich and complex Struise ale, love it.

Draught Almost no head; reddish opaque brown beer. Malts, grains, bit of chocolate, fusels. Chocolate, roasted liquorice, other grains, some fusels. Quite warming, well-bodied. More than OK, but suffers a bit compared to the other Struise bombs.

Sampled draft @ Struise Schooltje. Thx for sharing tlahav & DSG + 1. Very dark brown amber, tanned head. Nose is heavily herbal, bread with very syrupy sweetness, oak, syrupy, candy, licorice, heavily sweet & herbal, some brown sugar sweetness. Taste is herbal, big licorice, bread, almost touch cough syrup, brown sugar, lightly metallic in the finish. Syrupy body, touch watery possibly due to lacking some carbonation. Not the biggest fan of the regular or the previous BA version, I slightly prefer this one. Quite decent & enjoyable.
