Botttle from the Sudwerk Dock Store. Pours darkly ruddy with a slight white head. Raspberry aroma. Med body or nearly. Flavor is lightly sour raspberry. Not much malt. Needs more body, but otherwise seems to hit the style.

Bottle shared by bhensonb. Pours cola with a transient beige head and a sourish fruity malt aroma. There is a moderately sour raspberry flavor over a modest dark malt base. Easy to drink.

500 ml bottle. The beer is a medium brown with a bit of magenta to it. The liquid looks somewhat cloudy. No head. Just a few bubbles on the pour. The aroma is a nice mix of Flemish red flavors and raspberries. Bright with some juiciness from the fruit. Mild caramel malt sweetness. Some balsamic vinegar. Moderate oak or maybe just general woodiness. Taste has moderate to medium sourness. There’s a solid vinegar Flanders tartness, but it doesn’t cross the line into vinegar pucker. A bit less fruit but it’s there. Light funk. Really nice blend of flavors. There’s malt sweetness mellowing the sour flavors, but it doesn’t get in the way. No off flavors, which seems like an accomplishment relative to other non-traditional takes on the style. Light to medium bodied. I’m absolutely loving these Brewers Cut bottles from Sudwerk. They deserve a lot more acclaim than they get.

500mL bottle purchased from the Sudwerk Dock Store. Batch #1. The aroma on this is really nice with some fruited raspberry notes. There is also a little tart funkiness, too with hints of lacto. Moderately sweet, too. Nice aroma. Pours a turbid apple cider color with a small to medium quickly dissipating cream-colored head. Starts with a little sweet maltiness. It then becomes a bit acidic with some lacto. This is then followed by a sweet, milky lactose flavor in the middle. Finishes with light fruit later on. This is pretty good stuff.

Poured from a bottle. Aroma is slightly acidic with a moderately raspberry character and light cherry and dark berries. Light plum and prune with a moderate toasted bread and light caramel note. Faint oak notes. Pours a cloudy, pale reddish brown with a small, thin tan head that recedes to the edges and lingers. Small lacing and small legs. Flavor is moderately acidic with a light raspberry note. Light citrus, berry and cherry. Low oak notes and medium toasted bread and caramel. Low bitterness. Raspberry is nice and not overwhelming. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a pretty enjoyable Flanders style beer with raspberries. Nice, light malt notes and good fruit character from the yeast.
