First rating of 2013. Thanks to my girlfriend Ashley for bringing this back from California. Pours hazy amber with a thin beige head. Malty, as expected, with a level of sweetness appropriate for the style. Some light toasted malts, odder fruity-ish notes, and lighter flowery notes. Well balanced and pretty drinkable. 12oz bottle pours clear amber with copper edges and short lived tan head of loose foam. The light aroma is a mix of caramel, faint mineral notes and even fainter plum and cherry esteriness. The taste isn’t overly sweet, which I like. It offers up a touch of roasted malts, sweet malts and maybe a sweet biscuit note before thin layers of ripe plum, cherry and a slight mineral note come to the surface midway and into the finish. Pretty nice with a tasty balance. Thisis12ptfont (1230) - Los Angeles, CA, California, USA - OCT 30, 2012
Faint maple and cinnamon on the nose. Dark amber in appearance with no foam. Standard Oktoberfest with notes of brown sugar and maple. Overall, not a whole lot of flavor going on with this one. I’d give this a D rating. HarmonKill-a-Brew (407) - Wilmar, Arkansas, USA - OCT 22, 2012
Aroma was malty with a slight hint of prunes... Flavor was the same. As another rater posted, more like a bock than a marzen... at any rate, it was a tasty beer. Onionkid (390) - Fayetteville, Arkansas, USA - OCT 2, 2012
Bottle. Aroma of caramel and malts. Similar taste, a very sweet and malty body. I really like this beer, pleasantly surprised by how tasty it is! One of the better Oktoberfest beers I’ve had and definitely surprised by the alcohol in it. 7.5% abv.

Bottle from Total Wine, Sacramento. Pours dark amber with an attractive beige head and a treacle aroma. There is a medium-bodied smoked malt flavor with a dry slightly bitter finish. Fatehunter (2640) - Corbett, Oregon, USA - MAY 7, 2012
Poured into a tulip glass. Amber color with a half finger of head.
Nose full of grain, barley, malt and honey. Rich smelling, just like it should be.
Rich taste too. Malty, sweet, a biting bitter at the end.
Crisp, moderate carbonation and medium bodied.
The taste and the body are excellent. The combination of the malty taste with the crisp body create an amazing experience. After four years of living and drinking my way through Germany, I can confidently say this is probably the best non-Bavarian Oktoberfest beer that I have had. More like a bock to me than a marzen. +++ Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a red-caramel color with a medium sized foamy tan head that lingered and left a bit of lacing. The aroma was bock like sour caramel and vegetal malts. The flavor was tangy sour caramel with vegetal malts and a vague fruity presence. Medium length tangy caramel and vegetal finish. Medium body and smooth. Ok. sodakotakid (230) - Belle Fourche, South Dakota, USA - DEC 28, 2011
This beer is mildly sweet and malty, maybe slightly fruity. Not the best after taste. I very nice golden brown with very little head :) bittermestupid (247) - Canton, Ohio, USA - OCT 10, 2011
Pours ruby with no head. Smell: Caramel, cereal grain and not much else. Taste: Caramel, grain, some hops and a touch of chocolate. Malty finish.
