Poured into a tulip glass. Amber color with a half finger of head.
Nose full of grain, barley, malt and honey. Rich smelling, just like it should be.
Rich taste too. Malty, sweet, a biting bitter at the end.
Crisp, moderate carbonation and medium bodied.
The taste and the body are excellent. The combination of the malty taste with the crisp body create an amazing experience. After four years of living and drinking my way through Germany, I can confidently say this is probably the best non-Bavarian Oktoberfest beer that I have had. thetmaxx (927) - West Sacramento, California, USA - OCT 1, 2011
Poured from the bottle. Good head, nice dark orange color. Aroma is typical of lagers, bleh. Flavor is better! Nice caramel sweet flavors. Palate has a nice carbonation, and a medium body. Overall this is much better than sam Adams o Octoberfest joeneugs (6372) - Livermore, California, USA - OCT 31, 2013
On tap at the brewery. It pours a clear amber color with an off white head. The aroma is toasty malt with light notes of honey and fruit. The flavor is complex toasty malt with a dry, spicy noble hop finish. Full bodied and satisfying. Clean and finishes dry as a bone. A lot like their regular Marzen. Love it. A fun take on a classic style, starts out with a dry toasted malt before a malt sweetness comes in from behind to create refreshing quaff. loubar (157) - Los Gatos, California, USA - NOV 22, 2014
12 oz bottle from Whole Foods. Amber pour with a red tint. No head. Nose of toasted malt. Taste of caramel, toast and subtle spices. Sweet, but not overbearing. Earthy malt, hop bitterness and the alcohol give a rich, crisp flavor. I’m no authority on Marzen but this is delicious.

Bottle from a small store in Woodland, CA. As Fest Harvest Lager (7.5%). Pours clear darkish copper with a transient beige head. Malty aroma. Med + body. Flavor is dark roast malt - black or near it , but roasty - with something suggesting earth/herb hop. Seems mildly spicy. Flavor is quite strong, so this is arguably an exceptional marzen. marcus (10890) - Sacramento, California, USA - SEP 1, 2012
Bottle from Total Wine, Sacramento. Pours dark amber with an attractive beige head and a treacle aroma. There is a medium-bodied smoked malt flavor with a dry slightly bitter finish. Onionkid (390) - Fayetteville, Arkansas, USA - OCT 2, 2012
Bottle. Aroma of caramel and malts. Similar taste, a very sweet and malty body. I really like this beer, pleasantly surprised by how tasty it is! One of the better Oktoberfest beers I’ve had and definitely surprised by the alcohol in it. 7.5% abv. HarmonKill-a-Brew (407) - Wilmar, Arkansas, USA - OCT 22, 2012
Aroma was malty with a slight hint of prunes... Flavor was the same. As another rater posted, more like a bock than a marzen... at any rate, it was a tasty beer. Ibrew2or3 (8913) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - DEC 1, 2012
12oz bottle pours clear amber with copper edges and short lived tan head of loose foam. The light aroma is a mix of caramel, faint mineral notes and even fainter plum and cherry esteriness. The taste isn’t overly sweet, which I like. It offers up a touch of roasted malts, sweet malts and maybe a sweet biscuit note before thin layers of ripe plum, cherry and a slight mineral note come to the surface midway and into the finish. Pretty nice with a tasty balance.
