COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly Sudwerk Pilsner.

A Northern German-style Pilsner brewed in Northern California. Our pilsner is brewed entirely with pale two-row Weyermann, true to the style. A special blend of Bavarian Hallertauer and Tettnanger hops are used during brewing, adding to the sharp finish. Winner of the coveted “Brewers Choice” award for 25 consecutive years and counting.

krumbum (1109) - truckee, California, USA - MAY 2, 2014
Clear sun bleached straw yellow. The hop is so light the malt sticks out, it mellows but the flavor lasts. It has a slight bitter.

ChillCoat (1029) - Concord, California, USA - MAR 27, 2007
Bottle. Pale yellow and clear with a white head. Toasted malty aroma with a detectable floral hoppiness. Clean.

On draft. Pours a clear golden with a well formed white head but very little effervescents. The aroma is spice and grass, light biscuity malts. Body is med. light with very low CO2 for the style. The flavors are on the hoppier side; again spice and grass. The finish is dry but shows a great deal of oxidation. I would like to try this bottled.

urbnhautebourg (997) - Annapolis, Maryland, USA - JAN 2, 2003
A well-built pilsener and unlike the typical American micro interpretation of the style (Victory, Tupper, North Coast). This adheres rigidly to the German Pils framework. Tasts much like Einbecker or perhaps Bitburger. Fills out its frame marvelously. Would like to drink this in quantity.

FoolishMortal (990) - San Diego, California, USA - OCT 22, 2006
12oz. bottle. Pale yellow-gold color with a medium sized rocky white head. Grainy aromatics with tinges of spicy vegetal hops. Bitter, spicy hop nose gives way to a grainy, somewhat husky malt flavor. Clean, crisp profile in the finish is marred slightly by a stale bread element. Mouthfeel is light, fairly dry.

VENOM (941) - Connecticut, USA - SEP 25, 2002
Mainly clear dark straw. Small, compact white froth. Very slow carbonation. German hop aroma met with wet grass and bready malts. Sharp, tingly and bracingly crisp. Nice initial hop charge of spicy Hallertau. Lemon rind aftertaste. Light body. Quenching, dry malt flavor of toasted white bread. Gentle slickness. Clean, fresh tasting with no residue. Finishes with mineral hints and a toasty counter to the hop bitterness. Very nice.

Zach Diesel (905) - Sisters, Oregon, USA - MAR 9, 2003
grainy honey aroma, kinda cloudy, weak honey flavors not enough crispness or hop presence

2.4
Nikiel (879) - Portland, Oregon, USA - NOV 5, 2010
Pours a piss yellow with very quickly dispersing foam. Tastes crisp with an aftertaste of urine...

2.7
DTM (870) - Vacaville, California, USA - DEC 21, 2007
On tap, part of the 10 beer sampler. Light color, slighty hoppy, but not much to it.
