"it became obvious by the time we got to the porter that there was a similar, if not idetical, malt profile in their beers. this was no exception, but actually tasted hoppier than the ipa and pale, which was a nice change. overall, ana verage bodied and flavored porter. a decent, but light, aroma of hops and chocolate roasted malts. ok."

A brown porter with a thick moka head. A light chocolate aroma, with sweet nutty notes. In mouth, a light chocolatey porter, a bit herbal, light and boring. On tap at brewpub, August 27 2009. bhensonb (16104) - Woodland, California, USA - AUG 20, 2009
Tap at the brewpub. Pours a near blackish brown with a creamy tan head. Aromas of chocolate and dark malt. Body is at least medium and the carbonation is strong. Flavor is chocolate and dark lightly burnt malt, with some definite hop bitter. Started a little harsh, but it smoothed out. Some sweetness is noticeable with warming. There’s chocolate in the finish and I didn’t get any coffee. Robust is an appropriate description. DYCSoccer17 (3719) - Woodland, California, USA - MAY 31, 2009
32 ounce sample at the brewpub. More of a sweet, chocolate aroma. There is a bit of roastiness, but rather sweet. Nicely aromatic. Moderately transparent dark mahogany body with a fine off-tan head. Roasty start with some choco metallic notes present. Slight astringency with more bitter hop flavors (spice and grapefruit). I had this beer last week when it was first released, and I remember it being sweeter and underattenuated.
