COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed with heirloom German rye from the European "rye belt", this hardy cereal crop provides hints of spice complimented by a depth of nutty and rich field grain flavor. Simcoe and Amarillo hops sprinkle in West Coast citrus aromas and a piney bite. Lager yeast ties the recipe together, providing a crisp and refined finish.

Bottle from Granzellas. Amber pour with an ample amount of creamy beige head. Aromatic with floral and grassy hops, a little spicy in the background. Taste is just about what I was hoping for, a spicy lager. The underlying malty sweetness is accented with spicy rye and florals. On the mild side of bitter.

Bomber Bottle from Safeway. Looks hazy deep orange amber, sudsy long-lasting foam and lace. Tastes of resiny zest with subtle rye sharpness, medium caramel malt sweetness, a little residual biscuity body. hop-forward but balanced. Medium body, high carbonation. 7% ABV. not that impressed given the high ratings. But a solid beer. Just nothing special. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured from 12oz brown bottle into tulip glass, hazy deep orange amber, sudsy long-lasting foam and lace. Fruity, resiny, musky, lemon zest, honey, subtle rye sharpness, medium caramel malt sweetness, a little residual biscuity body. Very hop-forward but still balanced, as IPAs go. Medium body, high carbonation. Very tasty and smooth, well-concealed alcohol. Moreish.

In a bottle. From beer of the moth club. Great beer. Unique. One of the few lagers I have really liked a lot.

Amber beer with a medium light tan head that lasts a while. Nose of pine resin, orange pith, and caramel. Flavor is more of the same with a light caramel base overlaid with a resinous bitterness and some citrus notes. Although the hops stand out, the beer is not overly bitter and a bit of spice comes through at the end. Pretty good.

RedSox2004 (1909) - Pacific Palisades, California, USA - FEB 9, 2017
Beer of the Month Club selection. Clear copper with a one-finger bright white head that left very nice lacing. Light citrus aromas, mostly grapefruit, with hints of lemon and bread. Light hop bitterness up front offset by a caramel bready maltiness and a gentle spice kick. Light to medium body, moderate carbonation, creamy sticky prickly mouthfeel and a crisp clean finish.

12oz bottle thanks to Eric. Pours out a crisp copper topped with a sand head. Nose is rye malts sweet toffee and a light earthy grassy hop. Taste is more of the nice rye sweet malts and a nice crisp hop.
