Keg at The Berries, Beans & Beer Festival, Crewe. A clear golden colour with a medium white head. Aroma of pine, grapefruit, a hint of mint, herbs, subtle biscuity malts and fresh, floral hops. Taste of grapefruit, pine, some grass, a little straw and herbal, floral hops. Medium bodied and moderate carbonation. A dry, herbal, floral hop bitterness in the finish. Lovely fresh, hoppy aroma and a crisp, herbal and floral hop taste. Very good.

Can? April 2016. Loose foamed fogged gold. Juicy pink grapefruit Starburst, hairy leaf, mango, papaya, blackcurrant and anise aroma. Bittersweet and juicy to the nines with a softly bludgeoning Fruit Salad attack cushioned in pineapple wine gums, tea, honey and biscuit. Soapy but deep. Like KB’s bath water. Leafy, fresh pulped and balanced. Wish I had a pint and a whippet. Kind of beer that’s been made oop north for a long time; classic transpacific Yorkshire PA, lad. Love it.

330ml bottle from Beer Merchants. Pours murky yellow with the thinnest whisp of a head. Aroma is good creamy lemon, sweaty. Taste is vibrant Nelson Sauvin, dank, musky flavours with some dill and coconut. Nice.

Almost clear gold beer, tidy pale cream colour head. Palate is airy and semi dry. Good fine carbonation. Smooth malts, mildly sweet. Mild hop skunk introduces good gooseberry - grape Nelson. Dry floralness before a light semi dry grapey finish. Nice one.

Leighton (22051) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 13, 2016
Bottle at home in London - sourced from Clapton Craft, Hackney. Pours clear, pale yellow with a creamy, white head. Wow, the Nelson character in this is incredible, ditto the Motueka. The nose has tons of that classic ’pissy’ scent I associate with the Nelson hop, along with melon, tangerine, and lemon, mellow pine and pale bread. Lightly sweet with the perfect amount of pale, bready sugars to support the beautifully layered onslaught of Nelson Sauvin hops. Plenty more cat pee, ripening Meyer lemons, grapefruit, peach, nectarine. Light bodied with average carbonation. Crisp and lightly resinous on the finish, with lip-smacking hop intensity, lots of more urine, melon, citrus fruits, pale malts, very slight cleansing minerality. This one is a stunner all around. And at sub-5%, it’s all the more impressive to have such depth of character. Outstanding.
