4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Amberish orange, nice head, pine, toffee, grapefruit. Really quite excellent.
Okay orangey head and orangey-gold body, lots of carbonation. Aroma is heavy malt surrounded by sharp hops, peach and grapefruit, leichee, sharp tropical citrus. Flavour is heavy hops tempered by barley notes which makes it more like a pumpernickel bread finish that your usual super-citrusy hop explosion IPA. So a bit of good complexity there but I’m not entirely convinced they are working well together. No notice of the heavy booze so kudos to them for that. I think this would be an acquired taste as it’s a bit of a darker double IPA than I’ve found elsewhere. nybol (2200) - DENMARK - FEB 19, 2016
