Cask at The Hanging Bat. Almost black, beautiful dark brown velvety head. Nose is cherry, roast, chocolate, gentle smoke, light whisky or rum. Tastes light boozy, rum, roast, chocolate, cherries. Very smooth and velvety. I often feel I prefer my strongest beers in keg but thank you for this exception - this is delicious. teorn88 (7670) - Rimini, ITALY - OCT 20, 2015
Backlog rating. Keg at BD SB tap takeover, London. It pours a clean dark brown color with small beige head. Aroma is sweet and fruity, with some dark fruits, red tangy berries, chocolate and vanilla. Taste is more sweet caramely and fruity, with toffee, sweet cherries and milk chocolate. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Overall, sweet The_Osprey (7881) - Richmond, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 23, 2015
Keg at Brewdog. Very dark brown, small off-white head. Aroma is treacle and light raspberry jam. Body is medium, smooth, no real carbonation. Taste is smoke, vegetable, card, alcohol, twiggy. A bit thin, boozy and drying. Alright. mR_fr0g (11891) - Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - FEB 10, 2015
Keg at Brewdog Shepard’s Bush. Clearing up the last of the tap takeover. Dark caramel browm coloured pour with a thin dark tan head. Aroma is jammy fruits, earthy cocoa, cherry, roast, hint of campfire. Flavour is composed of nutty cheery, cocoa, soft roast and choc, black forest gateau. Keg at BD Sheps Bush. It pours jet black with a small tan head. The nose is smooth, roasty, earthy, cocoa, jammy fruits and berry compote. The taste is bitter, roasty, charred wood, earth, dried fruits, berry, light smoke and ash with a very drying finish. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Interesting flavour profile, but just a touch too drying.

Keg at BDSB - London. Pours clear black-brown with a creamy beige head. The nose holds lots of toasted dark malts, some dried fruits. Medium sweet flavor with lots of dried fruit character, some old leather, bitter earth, raspberry seeds. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Lightly warming on the finish with dominant dried, leathery dark fruits. Not bad. McNeillR (2313) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JAN 3, 2015
Oily opaque dark brown. Firm cherry and burnt sugar, muscovado times. Soft smokey malt. Initial taste is silky cherry, soft roast and black pepper. Finishes a fair bit sweet. Linger is terse bitter roast. Hangs in there. BeerCast_Rich (1906) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - DEC 21, 2012
[keg at the Hanging Bat, Edinburgh] Black pour with a small, tight, beige coloured head. Huskily smoky on the nose, with plenty of roasted chocolate – very toasty, really, on the nose. Some slightly tart fruit from the cherry. On the taste, the roasted malts take over, some of the cherry comes out eventually, before the smokiness arrives on the finish. This was the beer they wanted to put cigar tobacco in, before discovering it was toxic. Tastes pretty good to me dantheman278 (1361) - SCOTLAND - NOV 19, 2012
Keg at Bat. Black pour, thick fluffy beige head. Very light fruity cherry, roast, deep dark chocolate, not really getting the smoke nose. Big deep roast, soft dark chocolate, slightest soft smoke, touch of booze, light fruity tartness, long pine bitterness. Very good stout! But possibly needs more cherry and smoke.
