COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An inspired hybrid that blurs the boundaries between IPA and Amber styles. The exceptional blend of American hops (including the harder-to-find Horizon variety) gives it an intense pine, citrus and earthy character in the nose and on the tongue.

Bottle. Coppery bronze color-really not red at all, with a creamy white head. Very fresh hop smell with a sweet bready malt background. Very clean bitterness, not overlly bitter, with a light mouthfeel and a clean, slightly sweet fresh flavor. Dries out quickly and makes you want more. Very simple straightforward malt flavor with a very fresh hoppiness. Good no-brainer drinkin ale.

Dark amber color with a tall off-white head, creamy and bubbly, receding slowly leaving plenty of lacing as you drink. Strong caramel and citrus aroma. Medium mouth feel. Initial taste is citrus, caramel, and biscuit with moderate piney bittering present. The piney bittering remains into the aftertaste, but it is well balanced by the biscuit and caramel malts. The brewer says this beer is a "hybrid that blurs the boundaries between IPA and Amber styles," and that it is. Probably not hop-forward enough to please the true West Coast style hop head, but it is very tasty, and very nicely balanced with just enough piney hops to qualify as an American IPA.
