COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
While it may resemble a popular Irish Stout, our Oatmeal Stout is quite different. Most notably it's sweeter. Chocolate, coffee and caramel flavors round out this smooth, full-bodied beer.

Nitro tap- Served a dark brown-black color with a creamy tan head that fades slowly to lots of lacing. Nice rich aroma of roasted malt and grain, with a bit of chocolate and coffee. Flavor of roasted malt, some grain, with a mixture of chocolate and coffee. There is a mild bitterness and a clean finish. Fairly full body, smooth and creamy with a velvety texture. Very good balance. Easy drinker. Excellent stout, a good example of the style. Well worth checking out.

UPDATED: OCT 29, 2013 Pours black with a thick tan head. Aroma is mild chocolate, coffee and malt. Delivers smooth flavors with no unwanted aftertastes. Velvety smooth texture but feels a bit diluted. An milder, easy to stink stout.

Draft. Dark brown, massive thick nitro head. Aroma of weak coffee. Taste is Starbucks with a bit of crean and cocoa. OK.

On tap at Blue Moose in Iowa City, IA. Pours a very deep brown, almost black colored body with an inch thick, very dense and creamy, chocolate milk colored head that dissipates slowly and leaves a good amount of lacing throughout. Aroma is a nice mixture of dark and milky chocolates with a solid roast. Moderately sweet and a bit of earth in there as well. Flavor is similar. Milky and dark chocolates with a solid roast. A touch of earth again that comes in with the roast and helps this dry nicely with a light bitterness. Fairly lengthy aftertaste following a medium body and a soft, moderate carbonation. Overall, a pretty solid oatmeal stout. Very smooth and tasty with a well balanced flavor. Not bad at all.

Nice roast malt aroma. Served on nitrogen. Nice creamy head. Deep black color. Flavour is mildly sweet with modest dark roast flavour. Body is on the thin side for an oatmeal stout. Decent beer but I am probably being generous with my rating.

Serving glass: Poured from tap into Imperial Pint. Appearance: Jet black with thick creamy tan head expected for a nitro beer. Fantastic lacing lines. Aroma: Dry roasted aroma with chocolate, light coffee and oats. Taste: Somewhat sweet creamy taste with light roasted character, highlighting light coffee, milk chocolate and oats. Palate: Exceedingly smooth and creamy but maybe slightly thin. Expected nitro feel, which is quite nice. Overall: Very easy to drink with more flavor than a typical nitro beer. Great Oatmeal Stout overall.
