This beer shares many of the same good qualities--but also some of the same weaknesses--of Guinness. You get the attractive appearance (rich head, clear line between head and body), though without the cascade effect (at least as far as I saw...it may have happened before the waiter got the glass to me.) Similarly, the flavors here are in the right direction but aren’t vivid or deep--it’s a beer that sits "in the background" of the drinking experience, with the foreground being anything else that is happening at the table. The mouthfeel here, too, is light and slippery: it feels good but only for a flash. Overall, this is nice, but that’s all. UPDATED: MAR 3, 2013 Feels like a Guinness--very creamy. Tastes like one too but it’s sweeter and has massive chocolate and some coffee notes. Great beer! TheHOFF43 (2052) - Robbinsdale, Minnesota, USA - FEB 25, 2013
Tap. Pours dark with some head. Picture is deceiving, at least compared to my pour. Flavor and aroma are roasted malts, chocolate and it is somewhat sweet. Very solid. drowland (9184) - Georgia, USA - FEB 19, 2013
2/19/13. On nitro at Burro Bar. Random tick! Fuck yes! Black pour with a big creamy brown nitro head. Lightly nutty aroma with bits of caramel and coffee. Sweet chocolate, caramel, and nuttiness in the flavor as well. Tasty. Majin (256) - West Des Moines, Iowa, USA - FEB 16, 2013
On nitro. Creamy, dark, lovely chocolate notes. Coffee notes were subtle, but nice. Good stuff.

On tap. Very smooth stout here, one of my favorite Summit offerings. very dense thick head with small bubbles and long retention. Guinness-like comparisons are legit... camborne (1029) - Hopkins, Minnesota, USA - JAN 27, 2013
Chocolate and coffee notes on the nose. Nice lacing. Smooth beer with slight bitter aftertaste. Gription79 (2892) - Bountiful, Utah, USA - JAN 22, 2013
Had on draft at the airport. The nose is initially slightly sour/acidic. The sour note is also in the flavor, roasted malts bring on some chocolate and coffee character. Not bad, but I do not care for the sour note throughout. cards04 (2943) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - JAN 7, 2013
Pours a deep chestnut brown with lacing. Sweet, sour, and roasted malt aromas. Flavours are sour cherries, sweet bubblegum, and dark malts. Quite nice.
