While it may resemble a popular Irish Stout, our Oatmeal Stout is quite different. Most notably it's sweeter. Chocolate, coffee and caramel flavors round out this smooth, full-bodied beer.

Clear dark black brown color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is heavy malty, roasted, oat, chocolate, coffee, vanilla. Flavor is heavy sweet and moderate to heavy bitter with a long duration, dusty coffee - mocha, vanilla, chocolate, vanilla beans. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat flat. Sample from tap at the brewery. Pours dark brown with an amber hue, head is a creamy light brown foam. Aroma is soft roasted malt, coffee and slight fruity. Soft mouthfeel. Flavour is mild malty, only slight sweet. Finish is roasted mild.

GBBF Day 2. Sold as ’Vanilla Cask Mocha Oatmeal Stout’. Opaque dark brown beer. Small bubbly pale tan head. Light dry palate with modest carbonation. Light coffee and fairly sweet vanilla. Nice touch of unsweet dark chocolate. Light dry finish.

Draft at GBBF 2013 - London. Pours black-brown with a light, white cream head. The aroma holds moderate milk chocolate and vanilla along with secondary coffee notes. Light-medium sweet flavor with mellow chocolate, vanilla-laced coffee, some bitter earth. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Pretty sweet to finish with Dunkin’ Donuts coffee, more milk chocolate. Tasty.

The taste is smooth, toasty, cocoa, rock road, coffee grounds, light vanilla, charred wood and ash with a soft finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Pretty OK, but no game changer.
