COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We’re proud to announce the new Summit Sága IPA, a decidedly different hop-forward brew due out in early May 2012. The beer has pronounced hop flavors and aromas of kiwi, passionfruit, apricot and gooseberry. Clean, assertive bitterness with balancing Pale malt characteristics. We hop it with the rare New Zealand Rakau hop along with Citra, Centennial and Amarillo. Named after the Norse Goddess of Poetry, who was the God Odin’s drinking companion... also, it was quite a saga to pick a name!

Bottle: Pours a mountain of thick, creamy beige head atop a pale copper body. Spotty lacing. Aroma is bright, piney and fruity. Lively hops flavor; lightly herbal and floral. Some resin. Low level of bitterness. Good intense flavors, but not harsh. Refreshing.

Hazy gold with persistent head. Lemon tea aroma. Very hoppy with some light tangerine kiwi flavors. Would have liked more of this. Dry finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft into a white mug (so can't judge color properly). Aggressive hop taste that is probably only for hop heads. Quality beer. Very good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

powerful bitterness paired with robust malt that finishes in cracker. a floral character in sugary sweetness. abundant citrus and pine cone. fine orange blossom and tangerine delight the senses. no sense of alcohol and not at all wimpy. a bit of sticky in the body. a nearly perfect ipa.

This is a moderate IPA with a nice malty finish. Thin on the uptake with a nice bitterness midway through. Clean finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bright copper color, 1/2 inch frothy head which dissipates quickly. Smells very tropical with citrus backbone. A slight bit of piney flavor as well. Flavor is nicely bitter, floral, with citrus notes and a long finish. Overall, a very solid IPA. Textbook IPA. Nothing incredibly insane going on here, just a very, very good and balanced IPA.

I know how much folks like this beer, but I don’t get it. After the first few sips I am ready to give this to anyone else who rated it so high. Smells great from the bottle, but the taste is too much--lots of sweet and bitter flavors jump out together and take over the picnic, which I was enjoying.
