We’re proud to announce the new Summit Sága IPA, a decidedly different hop-forward brew due out in early May 2012. The beer has pronounced hop flavors and aromas of kiwi, passionfruit, apricot and gooseberry. Clean, assertive bitterness with balancing Pale malt characteristics. We hop it with the rare New Zealand Rakau hop along with Citra, Centennial and Amarillo. Named after the Norse Goddess of Poetry, who was the God Odin’s drinking companion... also, it was quite a saga to pick a name!

Medium hazy amber with light head. Earthy and herbal hop notes on nose. Slightly grainy, very bitter, white grapefruit, pepper, juniper, light toffee. Clean, medium mouthfeel, wet coating on mouth, moderately bitter finish. Not bad.

UPDATED: MAY 2, 2016 Bottle at Marriott MSP. Aroma was a nice citrus and citrus fruit, and a little bit of pine. Light amber color with a white head that lasts a long time, and nice lacing. A bit of citrus hoppiness in the flavor, that turns into a little piney aftertaste. Pleasant though. Med-light bodied. Overall, I thought it was initially an old school piney west coast IPA, but it evolved into a fruity combination of the two. Pretty nice! EDIT: Draft at Marriott MSP. Same comments as before.

Pours a clear golden yellow from the can with thin white head that leaves moderate lace. Aroma of resinous pine hops and a hint of biscuit. Taste is a bit more toward the malt with a hint of the hops. Clean and easy, no abv listed on the keg.
