COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We’re proud to announce the new Summit Sága IPA, a decidedly different hop-forward brew due out in early May 2012. The beer has pronounced hop flavors and aromas of kiwi, passionfruit, apricot and gooseberry. Clean, assertive bitterness with balancing Pale malt characteristics. We hop it with the rare New Zealand Rakau hop along with Citra, Centennial and Amarillo. Named after the Norse Goddess of Poetry, who was the God Odin’s drinking companion... also, it was quite a saga to pick a name!

UPDATED: JUL 10, 2013 On tap at Hangar 45 in Columbia Heights, Minnesota, served in a huge 25 ounce mug. The biggest beer I’ve had in awhile! Not much head on this serving. Pretty much all beer, all the way to the top.

Served ice cold, but that’s a good thing, as it takes a while to get through a beer that size.

I see IBUs listed as 80, which is by some measures the baseline for a very "hoppy" beer. This is certainly the case here. Hops are way up front here, balanced with just enough malt to take the edge off the bitterness. The flavours of both hops and malts are bold and assertive, and overall this beer is very well balanced. Very nice indeed!

Pour a slightly hazy golden with a small, rocky head. Spruce and tropical fruit aroma, gummy bears? yum!. Taste is a little disappointing with a slight medicinal quality, but still a quality IPA.

Bottle. Pours a hazy, yellow-orange body with a thick, white head. Aroma of floral/grassy hops along with apricot and citrus. Taste is similar, although not as strong as the aroma. Bitter finish.

Growler from Brick Spirits. Pours a crystal clear golden color with a huge pillowy off white head. Aroma of tropical fruit and grapefruit. Slight hints of caramel malt. Really tasty! Nice balance of fruity citrus and tropical hops and caramel malt. I can definitely tastes hints of the kiwi and passionfruit as well. Well done

Thanks for sharing, bro! Pours a light golden color with a small white head that leaves little webbed lacing. Aroma is mostly apricot, kiwi, and other citrus, light caramel malts. Mouthfeel is smooth. Taste is very balanced even though there are a lot of hop varietals being used. Finishes rather clean with little lingering bitterness. Solid!
