COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We’re proud to announce the new Summit Sága IPA, a decidedly different hop-forward brew due out in early May 2012. The beer has pronounced hop flavors and aromas of kiwi, passionfruit, apricot and gooseberry. Clean, assertive bitterness with balancing Pale malt characteristics. We hop it with the rare New Zealand Rakau hop along with Citra, Centennial and Amarillo. Named after the Norse Goddess of Poetry, who was the God Odin’s drinking companion... also, it was quite a saga to pick a name!

On tap at Stubby’s. Cloudy golden yellow with a medium slowly dissipating creamy tan head that makes some thick ass lace. Aroma is wonderfully dank with cat pee, woodsy notes, pine, resin and middle-of-the-road malt. Taste is west coasty and semi-dank with woodsy hops, tropical fruits and moderate to high bitterness. Solid.

Bottle. Pours clear gold with white head. Aroma hints to apricot & berry, grassy, a tad dirty sock and a bit of malt. Flavor is somewhat similar (minus socks) with a light sweetness and earthy bitter finish. Light-medium mouthfeel with high carbonation. Is ok.

I did not like this beer at all. Great hoppy aroma and good golden color but the taste was horrible. Probably just too strong for me. The taste left a bitter almost metallic burnt taste. Lingered forever...

Super clear burnt orange; first aroma is a big, dank and dirty grapefruit-pineapple rind combo; it almost imitates a kind of funkiness with just how dirty it is. Biscuit, apricot, flowers, and cotton candy creep in slowly to soften it lightly, and nicely. That sensation grows, and it seems to have more in common with the floral-forward examples than the danker west coast ones. The dirtiness of the initial aroma does tend to hang around and it doesn’t blend well.

But then the hops taste really quite tropical; golden kiwis, mangoes, oranges; underlaid with lots of clean, honeyed malt that supports it perfectly. The body is rounded and firm, and sticky in the finish, offering mostly those same fruits and some syrupy weed to linger around for a while. This is a fine but quiet example that doesn’t let any of its qualities be outstanding.

Bottle from a trade. Pours surprisingly light, looks almost like a pils with a nice small ring of white foam. Pleasingly sweet, apricot aroma. Taste is hop-forward with big hits of grapefruit and apricot with a bubblegum finish. A very solid IPA.

Pours straw with a white head. Some fresh flowery hops on the nose. Strong forward hops, with some citrus note. Not balanced, but clean and enjoyable.

love off gold color Frothy off-white head. Nice citrus forward hop aroma. Toasty and clean, this is almost more of a great APA than an IPA. Either way, really well done, well above par for Summit. Classic taste profile, not over the top, but well hopped and quite enjoyable

Bottle, courtesy of CanIHave4Beers. Cheers, Andy and Dennetta! Pours a beauty, pale golden-orange, hazy with a creamy whit head atop. Nose shows spicy Cascade, citrus, grapefruit, and some grain. Taste adds pleasant bitterness. Great mouthfeel.

Good head, great lacing, mostly diminishing, clear, light golden amber, hoppy, bitter finish.
