Picked this up at Surdyk’s on a recent trip to minnesota. I think it’s quite nice. Dark ruby color. Malty, slightly sweet flavor with a subtle belgian yeast flavor and pepperiness. Balanced and layered flavors. Looking forward to another. Skyview (6093) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - AUG 5, 2012
Picked up a single 12-oz bottle at Heritage Liquors in Maplewood, MN. Pours a semi-clear amber brown colored ale with a slowly dissolving off-white head that has some nice lacing. Aroma of light caramel malt, hint of toffee, some floral hops and a touch of date. Taste is medium bodied, more light Belgian yeast in flavor than aroma, some caramel malt, light fruit and a hint of dates. Finish is semi-sweet, some toasted caramel malt and a hint of date. The candi sugar and Belgian yeast is a tad light but still a decent ale. DalzAle (2038) - Eden Prairie, Minnesota, USA - AUG 1, 2012
Bottle. Clear amber brown pour, nice 3/4 inch head and a bready/yeasty sweet aroma. Body is rich, creamy and malty, some lightly sweet and peppery Belgian yeast and some decent balance sweetness on the finish. Decent beer for the price. portableparty (2366) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - JUL 28, 2012
Bottle. Pours dark amber mahogany color with a quick khaki soapy head that fades to a thin collar and a spot of film that lasts. Aroma is artificial banana and clove with a roasted sugary malt. Taste is all of the above with a little heat and yeast/spice in the finish. Palate is medium and slightly heavy with a dry finish. bhensonb (15498) - Woodland, California, USA - JUL 28, 2012
Tap at OBF. Pours dark amber with a big beige head. Aroma of darkish fruit like raisin/date. Med + body. Flavor is malty, dark sugar. Not too much spice; some noble hop. Surprisingly dry finish.

Had this at the All Pints North festival in Duluth, MN. Pretty plain banana/clove scent, easy drinker. ryanfolty (2584) - Bourbon County, Minnesota, USA - JUL 22, 2012
July 21, 2012 on tap at All Pints North. Brown pour with some head. Belgian yeast and dark fruit in aroma and taste. Also had the cask version, which seemed to have more citrus hops and was smooth and creamy. arminjewell (9689) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - JUL 19, 2012
Pour out of 12 oz bottle, thanks to the Summit rep at France 44! Dark reddish pour with thin to no head, slight white head in there. Aroma has notes of dark candi sugar, dark fruits with caramel, toffee, hints of slight cocoa powder, touch of fruity yeast. Taste is a mix of sweet fruits, belgian yeast, touch of slight caramel, toffee, hints of spice, finishing fairly sweet, slightly dry.
