3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Probably my favorite of their standard beers. Very nice malt and hop profile that comes through in the flavor and aroma. Some nice dark fruit and candy in the background as well. Just a touch of lemongrass. Very mild on the palate as well. The most sessionable of the Sun King beers, and a all around solid beer.
Draft. Clear golden color. Aroma of straw. Taste is bitter pepper, clean and crisp. b3shine (9073) - Indiana, USA - APR 27, 2014
Draft to taster. Looks solid; a completely transparent light copperish orange with white lacing. Smells and tastes mildly sweet and hoppy; maybe just a hint of grain too. Average on the palate. Not bad, but forgettable. hotstuff (5233) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - NOV 11, 2013
Rated on 9-05-2009 at Sun King Brewery. This draft beer forms a small ivory head with a short retention, golden body, no carbonation noted, and one ring of lacing. The Aroma is malty and bitter hops. The Taste is malty and lightly bitter. The Palate is fizzy and this beer is medium bodied. Overall, I did not enjoy this beer as it lacks character and the flavor is bland and boring. This is a beer that I do not recommend unless one likes bland and boring tasting beer. shrubber85 (11574) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - AUG 4, 2013

Growler from Sun King Brewery in Indianapolis. Growlers on Superbowl Sunday! Amazing! This beer is one of my favorites to come from Sun King. Pours a red amber color and a thin frothy head. The taste seems to get weaker and weaker the more I drink it but that being said the taste of this beer is a sweet hoppy delight that is easy to drink, especially from the tap iugrad93 (265) - Indiana, USA - OCT 2, 2011
UPDATED: OCT 7, 2011 re-rate: I may have been a bit harsh as I finished the remaining growler the next day. The flavor was better, but still weak. However, that weak flavor was more pronounced after the Walkabout, which I really like.
Poured from growler a dark reddish brown with off-white, frothy head from aggressive pour. Tons of lacing. Aromas of floral, grass, and citrus. Taste is mild sweet and mild bitter. Not a real strong flavor coming through. Palate is a bit thin, below avg carbonation, and short, dry finish. Overall, this one seems like it could be a really good beer, but the flavor is a bit weak, especially compared to the nice aroma. Expected more. jcr (2726) - Jasper, Indiana, USA - JUN 27, 2011
Draft at The Heorot. Amber body. Short, off-white head. Grainy aroma with notes of grass, citrus, caramel and pale malt. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture and lively carbonation. Some earthiness in the taste along with toffee, breadiness and husks. Off-balance. Unclean and less than memorable. jsquire (4564) - St. Marys, Ohio, USA - JAN 29, 2011
On tap at Trion. Golden amber color with a thin off white head. Sticky lace. Light hoppy nose. Very sessionable drink. Light moutfeel, with a small malt backbone under a citrusy hop flavor. Maybe a little thin but tastey. kwoeltje (2233) - Manchester, Missouri, USA - OCT 6, 2010
(draught - growler from brewery) amber/orange with generous off white head. Earthy/biscuit aroma. Flavor is earthy/biscuit malt, a bit of grassy hops in the finish.
