On cask at MacNiven’s in Indy. The beer pours dark brown with a thin beige head that diminishes quickly to an outer ring. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of malt, coffee and caramel. Medium to full body with a roasty malt and coffee character and notes of dark fruits and caramel. The finish is sweet and malty. Above average overall. deyholla (12449) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - MAR 29, 2010
Growler at the 2010 March Metro Detroit tasting. Poured a cleasr light brown with an off-white head. Aroma had a nice grain aroma, but it was a bit one note. Full of nice malt flavor, but again it was quite note. shrubber85 (11666) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - MAR 1, 2015
Draft. Toffee malt, hay, and light alcohol aroma. Amber with small head. Sweet light fruity barley malt and light astringent alcohol flavor. Good body. Tasty - on the light side style-wise though. phaleslu (10750) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - FEB 24, 2013
Draft sample at the brewery. Pours a semi-cloudy amber color with a small off-white head. Notes of toasted and caramel malts, nuts, mildly spiced sweet bread, dried fruits (raisins, dates, prunes), and just a bit of earth. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a rich, malty mouthfeel. Very, very good doppelbock.

Draft to taster. Looks good for the style; a transparent copperish orange with foamy off-white head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells sweet and malty. Tastes like it smells with a nice, smooth mouthfeel. Solid beer. TheAlum (7164) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - APR 3, 2010
Sampled on tap at the brewery (Indianapolis, IN). Pours a nice murky brownish amber, darker, with red notes beneath, a frothy moderate offwhite near tan head. Laces ok. Aromas are a hearty malt base, caramel and biscuits, coffee grounds are lighter but there, a light floral hopping but fairly malt forward. Sweeter, a bit roasty. Initial is medium bodied, a darker malt sweetness, coffee essence, faint roast, caramel and toffee envelope. A bit sticky, sweeter, hops are died out, goes down easy but a bit full and thicker for sessioning. Nice, a little too sweet for me. A touch more hops would do it. vyvvy (6777) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - MAR 25, 2017
It pours bronze with an off white head. It has a lighter body than expected and fairly sharp carbonation. The taste has dry roasted malt, lager smoothness, leaves and toffee. Solid. Patrickctenchi (6750) - Cox’s Knob, columbus, Indiana, USA - MAR 16, 2014
Draft: Boutip (6567) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 10, 2016
Red-brown with a creamy tan head.
Caramel, toasty aroma.
Caramel malt, baked bread, gingerbread, cream taste.
Sweet and mild.
Draft: Poured a clear brown color bock with a nice brown foamy head with OK retention and light lacing. Aroma of banana bread with light caramelized malt notes is quite pleasant. Taste is also a mix of banana bread with some caramelized toffee notes and some residual sugar notes. Body is about average for style with good carbonation. Well balanced with good drinkability.
