COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A unique and complex take on Belgian Wheat Beer. Firefly utilizes a special yeast that imparts a tart cherry note to the beer which compliments the character of the wheat malt. Firefly is unfiltered and crafted from the finest quality American malts which creates a delightful drinking experience.

Draft: Yellow-gold, with a small, off-white head... Orange/citrus aroma. Taste is wheat malt, cloves......a tartness that must come from the "special yeast".... I really didn’t get any cherry notes....unless that was the tart... A decent, if only average wheat ale.

Draft. Orange, wheat malt and grass aroma. Golden yellow with small head. Sweet orange-peach wheat malt and hay flavor. Very nice.

Sample at Sun King. Pours a clear, light yellow with a thin, white head that laces. Aroma has big wheat beer flavours. Citrus, grain. Taste is classic wheat. Citrus, spice. Yum. Medium body with a medium-high carbonation. Clean and refreshing in the mouth. Overall a well done wheat. Great, vibrant flavours.

Rated on 9-05-2009 at Sun King Brewery. This draft beer pours a small off-white head, cloudy straw body, no visible carbonation, and no lacing. The Aroma is malt, wheat, yeast, and banana. The Taste follows the Aroma. The Palate is very smooth and this beer is medium bodied. Overall, this beer is easy to drink but lacks any WOW factor.

Draft to taster at Sun King. Looks solid; a slightly hazy gold with white lacing and lively carbonation. Smells of dough, Belgian yeast, and light clove. Tastes like it smells with a solid, slightly tart mouthfeel. Not bad.

Tap sample at SK. Poured a hazy yellow color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate wheat and yeast aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met.

Pale pour with a white head. Aroma of sweet pale malts. Thin body and very light on the flavor.

Sampled at brewery. Appearance is slightly hazy yellowish-orange color with light head. Aroma is fairly simple with wheat and grassy notes prevailing. Taste is also pretty straight forward - some cereal malts but mostly a grassy hop character. Not much tartness to speak of so it’s definitely not in line with the Belgian style. Palate is slightly thin, good carbonation and mild bitter finish. Definitely more an American Wheat Ale and a below average one at that.

From notes. Pours a dark orange color with a big frothy white head and a lot of lacing. Aroma is nice, grass and hay with a nice hoppy bite. Also some fruit going on, not just cherry, but maybe banana as well, with a touch of clove. Slightly bitter on the palate. This is one I wish they would bring back, as it was really pretty tasty.

This draft brew from the brewery poured a small sized head of finely sized white colored bubbles that were quickly diminishing and left behind a slightly hazy uncarbonated light orange colored body and a fair lacing. The mild aroma was malty. The semi-thick mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish. The flavor contained notes of dough and wheat. An OK brew just nothing special.
