According to their placard at the brewery. Jungle Room IIPA is an imperial IPA using the same malt base as Grapefruit Jungle with the hop bill a combination of GFJ and Cream Dream IV.
Poured a bright orange with a 1.5 finger off-white head.
Smells of tropical fruits. Mango and a bit of pineapple. A bit of grapefruit as well, but tropical fruits dominate. Just a touch of maltiness.
Tastes similar to its brother, but more complex overall. The malt bill is present on this one and there is some caramel goodness in the middle of the tongue, but definitely a hop forward beer. Starts out with intense tropical fruit flavors before rounding out in a dry grapefruit mouth puckering bitterness. The grapefruit taste is definitely strong, but not as much as GFJ.
Mouthfeel is good and creamy with good carbonation.
Another good IPA from Sun King. I think I slightly prefer the original Grapefruit Jungle, but still a great DIPA. Hopefully they will brew this again.

Draft to snifter. This new batch is listed on The Tap’s beer menu as 8.6%. Looks good; a transparent light copperish orange with foamy off-white head that dissipates into sticky lacing. Smells good too; mango and grapefruit hops with a pale malt backbone. Tastes like it smells, but not quite as robust. Good on the palate. Good beer, but not everything I was expecting given the base.

On tap. Pours a golden-amber with a thinner yet still rocky off-white head that leaves some thick, intricate lacing. Big hoppy nose of grapefruit, pine, and passion fruit, with some toasted malt notes underneath. A fairly substantial sweetness is still completely overshadowed by an intense hop bitterness. Heavier side of medium bodied, fairly actively carbed, with a big healthy bitter finish. Pretty damn tasty, quite drinkable, definitely didn’t seem like 10%. Nice hopping, great flavor, well done. jeremiahoden (11) - Indiana, USA - APR 14, 2013
Had this at Khans tasting. Very impressed with this Sun King. I love the Velvet Fog but I think this is my fav Sun King to date! Cheers to Indianapolis’ best brewery! tastybeer (1853) - Indiana, USA - MAR 7, 2013
Draft. Dark gold/copper pour, small white, little retention/lace. Aroma is tropical, citrus, lemon, light resin, caramel. Taste is bitter, big citrus/resin, lemon, caramel malt sweetness. Palate is oily, heavy, bitter finish. Overml01 (227) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - MAR 2, 2013
Draft at the Fort Wayne release party at CS3. With the Chocolate Cake and Timmie on tap, I can’t believe I’m saying this... but this was my favorite of the night. *Sigh* Am I finally being pulled toward that dark, treacherous world of the Hopheads as was foretold?! (No. But still DAMNED tasty brew.) Tons of citric grapefruit with a mouthfeel that makes your spine tingle. If they can get this canned and out on the market, they could get some serious street cred. If you want to see if this brewery is a serious contender in the ever-crowding craft market, I suggest you get ahold of this brew. It made a believer out of me. impaleyou (24) - Indiana, USA - FEB 28, 2013
Big citrusy hops flavor. Slightly cloudy amber color. Good mouthfeel. Very solid imperial ipa.
