Dfonorow (2274) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 20, 2017
On tap @ FoBAB 2016. Pour is golden copper with a very small white head that fades quickly. Aroma and flavor of light bourbon, oak, vanilla beans, light dull fruit, and spice. Alcohol is hidden by Belgian spice / yeast.

Refrigerated 16 oz. aluminum bottle, compliments of shrubber85, poured into a Trappist glass. Clear deep golden with small off-white head. Aroma is sweet bourbon, medium body, low carbonation, and some small-bubble lacing. Taste is really nice bourbon, caramel, and some butterscotch. I like this pretty well.

jredmond (8644) - New York, New York, USA - OCT 23, 2014
Draft sampled at GABF 2014. Pours a golden body. Aroma is strong caramel candy, bourbon, oak and sweet malt. Mouthfeel is medium to full, thick with notes of caramel, bourbon, light heat, oak, light maple and spice.

onceblind (10561) - Denver, Colorado, USA - OCT 18, 2014
Clear light golden with a lasting foamy white head. Leafy hoppy sour nose with a funny earthy yeasty eccentricity. Earthy dry flavor with a little funkiness and a leafy dry hop bitterness. Honestly a little underwhelming.

3.8
badgerben (5325) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - OCT 18, 2014
GABF 2014. Gold color with a small head. Strong bourbon aroma. Big bourbon, caramel, and sugar flavor. Quite sweet.

thirdeye11 (6162) - Dallas, Texas, USA - JUL 31, 2014
(16oz aluminum can) clear medium gold with a lasting ring of white bubbles. Nose of vanilla, Belgian malt, alcohol/fusel. Taste is way more refined than the smell, toasty marshmallows, vanilla, super malty/smooth bourbon, loads of Decadent flavor. Medium thick with a sweet finish.

3.8
Westmeister (2127) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - MAY 28, 2014
Can shared at May Ale Alpharetta. I thought this was really nice not even knowing that it was Pappy. (and yes pappy is superior from what i’ve noticed in barrel aging). Floral, big bourbon, sweet maltiness, light fruits, vanilla, oak. I dig it.

Can - well. This one is certainly different. Light gold pour with white head a small rim of retention. Nose of bourbon and some fruit. Taste is light fruit and malt with bourbon mixed in. Very strong flavor of bourbon. Not just the heat. I enjoyed that flavor as it warmed. It's actually a fairly substandard triple but I did enjoy the flavor. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

queenholly (3623) - South Whitley, Indiana, USA - APR 20, 2014
16oz aluminum bottle. Apple, oak, bourbon, vanilla, cinnamon, and alcohol aroma. Smells a lot like an bourbon/oak aged cider. Clear brassy gold with a very small white head. Boozy bourbon, vanilla, oak, and fruity flavor. Medium body, moderate carbonation. Big overwhelmingly hot boozy bourbon flavor which drowned out any Belgian character.

3.7
Ratman197 (15360) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - APR 17, 2014
On tap at Hops and Pie poured a clear gold with a small lingering white head. Aromas of bourbon, oak, vanilla, fruitiness, light straw and light coconut. Palate was light bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of bourbon, oak, vanilla, caramel, fruitiness and spice with a smooth dry lingering bourbon finish.
