TheAlum (7164) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - NOV 27, 2012
Sampled at FoBAB 10 - 2012 (Chicago, IL). Pours a rich deep brownish copper pour, just a touc of haze, richer edges. A frothy offwhite head laces ok. Aromas are sweet, toffee, and gentle dark fruit. Mellow vanilla, toast, and oak. Some sweetness. Initial is sweet, red and dark fruit, raisin and plum, toffee, vanilla, and gentle cocoa. Roast, rich barrel and spirit presence. Middle is gentle sweetness, caramel and toffee, gentle toast. Some vanilla. Backend shows toast, dryness, tannic wet oak and spirit. Finish is a bit hot, mellow, dry. Really a bit too sweet up front but settles out a bit. Solid. Lots of dark fruit. Beerman6686 (6607) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 27, 2012
This poured a medium brown to dark red color with a beige head. Aroma was a good amount of pappy, wood, dark fruits and light roast. Flavor was a bit of a disappointment, nothing really stadning out here, however the smooth bourbon did compliments the fruits well, but just a little bland. deyholla (11609) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - NOV 20, 2012
Sampled from the tap at FOBAB 2012. Pours a clear deep amber brown with a brown head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has bourbon with some backing earthy grains and a hint of sweet bread. Flavor has sweet grains with a good amount of bourbon and just a hint of grass in the finish. crossovert (12937) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - NOV 17, 2012
