Sunlight Cream Ale is our most approachable beer and is a great introduction to the world of Craft Beer. Cream ale is one of the earliest styles of American beer, but was virtually wiped out by American lager brewers. Our Cream Ale is an all malt beer. Only the finest quality barley, wheat and oats are used to give this beer it’s smooth malt profile which is delicately balanced with American hops and a cool fermentation to give this beer a crisp, clean finish.

Pounder Can. Pours clear yellow with a small white head that lasts a minute or so. The aroma smells like a macro lager.. wouldn’t be surprised if there was some adjunct items thrown in this mix. The taste has a light hop note, some hay or straw flavor.. maybe a bit of a breadiness. Watery and not so hot.

Rated on 9-05-2009 at Sun King Brewery. This draft beer pours a small white head that mostly diminished, transparent pale yellow body, visible carbonation, and sparse lacing. The Aroma is barley malt and a hint of hops. Ditto for the Taste. The Palate is very smooth and this beer is light-medium bodied. Overall, this is a session beer as it is very easy to drink.

Not much on smell or appearance but is a nice crispy refreshing beer. Not bad on alcohol content either. Grassy pilsnerish.

Draft. Pale yellow with a white head. Grainy and a little yeasty. Doughy and grainy taste. Overall, a decent cream ale.

Pours pale yellow with a tiny amount of white head. Aroma is barn, crackers, wheat, and a small trace of alcohol. Flavor is doughy, bread, slight malt, and faint bitterness. Can’t say I have ever had a true cream ale, so can’t really compare if it is right for the style. Seemed like more of a helles or pilsner. It was okay.

Defensemaster (31) - GERMANY - OCT 21, 2013
Golden with fairly long head retention, this cream ale has a fresh clean aroma with no skunkiness or hints of anything notable. It is foamy on the tongue and dry, with a hint of cereal in the taste and a smooth finish: a refreshing summer beer. ---Cheers until next time! DMSR

Can @ home picked up at Highlands Liquor. Pours a fairly clear golden yellow appearance with an off white head. Corn, candy, vanilla, sweet malty aroma that’s almost like a malt liquor. Fairly clean, Budweiser-esque flavor with some rice/corny/sweet notes. Nothing particularly off but really reminiscent of a macro lager.

UPDATED: OCT 24, 2013 Can. Clear gold with a short white head. Starchy malt liquor / apple aroma, there’s a lot of cracker and cookie malt, there’s some fermentation artifacts but they’re not overpowering, it’s not boozy, it’s not full of off notes, but they are there. Kind of endearing like malt liquor. Corn kernels and malt hop or maybe hop malt.

Draft. From notes. Corn and citrus. Very drinkable but not very special. Nothing I would seek out again.
