Bottle. Pours a mostly clear dark brown with reddish tinges to it and a moderate tan head that quickly disappears. Nose is quite malt with some toasty and almost nutty tones. Taste isn’t really sweet at all, but has some nice nuttiness to it. OK. edgallow (4312) - nashville, Tennessee, USA - DEC 1, 2014

Transparent red with a thin beige head that goes quickly. Cola nose with some sugar, light tea, caramel, and fruit. Vanilla-heavy flavor with more caramel, both contrasted by heavy carbonation and the thin body. These characteristics make for an odd experience, one neither rich and satisfying or light and refreshing.
tap at the brewery - Pours light amber-brown with an off-white head. It was a very distinct caramel malt aroma. The flavor is caramel malt and some mild, earthy hops. It’s light bodied and overall a little milder than I’d like in a Scottish ale. Decent. JCB (3999) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - JUL 1, 2011
Thanks to Josh for the tall boy! Wee Mac = Tyrion Lannister? Scottish brown seems about right, as this brew isn’t quite your typical Scottish and certainly not your typical brown. Vigorous pour required careful monitoring to avoid counter spillage. Murky light copper pour, head fades very quickly to leave the thinnest scrim. Nose is hugely fruity, almost to the exclusion of anything else, and what’s there is more bright and floral than is customary for the style. Full mouthfeel, feels more carbonated than it ends up looking. Taste is too sweet, even some vanilla syrup creeping in there along with the bright fruit adjuncts. And the whole fades a bit quickly in the finish. Weird.

Bottle at SlutFest 2011 on 04/23/2011. Clear copper body with a small creamy off white head. Sweet toasty and cheerios aroma. Sweet toast and bread flavor with some cheerios. Medium light body with moderate carbonation. drpimento (3714) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 13, 2016
Aroma is malty beer, but nothing that reminds me of Scotch Ale. Flavor does deliver a little in that way. Body, despite being malty, is still a touch thin. An ok beer. I’ll enjoy this one, but not get another. northropfrye (3662) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - JUL 1, 2015
On tap at Indianapolis airport . Sweet malty with a touch of bubblegum . Copper body off white head. Not bad queenholly (3623) - South Whitley, Indiana, USA - DEC 15, 2012
Can. Grainy malt aroma. Clear chestnut with a small off-white head, some nice creamy lacing. As in the nose, the flavor is a heavy gainy malt with a very slight metallic bitter finish. Body on the light side of medium, moderate carbonation. Aubrey (3516) - Bellingham, Washington, USA - DEC 7, 2011
Deep mahogany hue. Inviting nose. Malt forward with rich elements of toast, peat and toffee. Wholesomely sweet, but not cloying. Hops are earthy and herbal, delicate and balancing. Not overly exciting, but tasty and well made.
