Poured from 16oz can, pours a clear light brownish red with a thin white head and no lacing, the aroma is very sweet with a hint of scotch, the front end of the flavor is strong in the malt with some caramel in the finish, very sweet but it works for this one, nice. 16oz can. Rating #68. Clear dark amber, nice toasty aroma, picking up a little smoke as well. Flavor is similar, nice touch of sweetness. Good stuff. (2399)

Pretty weak Scottish ale. Muted aromas... Some peat and sweet malt. Flavors are a bit of caramel and banana. Thin and watery. jcr (2692) - Jasper, Indiana, USA - JAN 9, 2012
Draft at Rich Os. Light brown body with a fizzy, off-white head, rapidly diminishing. Raw grain aroma with notes of caramel, roast and toasted grain. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture and moderate carbonation. A sight tartness in the finish, along with some vinegary notes. Flabby, unclean malts. Lacking the richness of a Scottish ale. Disappointing. Block (2688) - Indianapolis, Indiana, USA - JUL 21, 2010
Brown pour with an off white head. Aroma of roasted malts, light. Some alcohol at the finish.

Draft dark copper amber. Nose sweet sryupy malt and toffee. Taste all sweet malt no hop. Minimal finish. BrewBoxer (2632) - New York, New York, USA - SEP 22, 2013
Can. Pours a deep brown color with a nice head that fades. More of an amber brown ale then a scotch. Booze and flavor isn't there

Scottish style brown ale my butt. Straight up malt liquor is more like it. But a good one. Heavy corn flavors. Dusty hops. Oxidized malts with bits of paper, metallic, medium caramels. Light lemon tang. The texture is well done -- effervescent and lightly creamy. No fusels nor apparent alcohol. Weird but solid. boxofrane (2553) - Spring City, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 15, 2013
Can. Pours clear brown with a small off white head that quickly dissipates The aroma has light caramel but is far from diverse or complex. The taste is sweet caramel, very basic. ryanfolty (2538) - Bourbon County, Minnesota, USA - JAN 17, 2012
Tap at Scottys on January 17, 2012. Translucent light brown with some head and spotty lacing. Aroma was mainly malty caramel but had some chocolate. Taste was similar to aroma but was mild and maybe a slight dry finish.
