16oz can, from Big Red in Indianapolis. Code on bottom of the can reads 14120. Pours a mostly clear brown amber color. Off-white head is bigger at first, but quickly fizzes away to a thin ring that doesn’t leave much head and just loose bits of lace. Caramel malt and dark fruity aroma. Bit of chocolate. Smooth, kind of crisp, lighter carbonation. Lightly slick. Moderate sweet taste, light bitterness. Solid scottish ale. RobertDale (6483) - Lansing, Kansas, USA - OCT 26, 2014
Sample at GABF. Comes reddish brown with a small tan head. Mild aroma of malt, fruit, and caramel. Taste is similar. Somewhat sweet, but very drinkable. MarkSachon (1023) - Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 26, 2015
Can, somewhere in Indianapolis I can’t remember. Weak, bland and all-together a bad experience. Would never go down this road again. drpimento (3641) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 13, 2016
Aroma is malty beer, but nothing that reminds me of Scotch Ale. Flavor does deliver a little in that way. Body, despite being malty, is still a touch thin. An ok beer. I’ll enjoy this one, but not get another. Dal9000 (633) - Ohio, USA - JUL 23, 2016
Quick notes of scotch malts. Crisp middle hint of caramel? At the brewery in Indy.

A pretty decent scottish ale. Darker than most. Chocolate and coffee. Some caramel and sweet bread. Picked this up at the Indy airport in 2016. TheAlum (7164) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - APR 3, 2010
Sampled on tap at the brewery (Indianapolis, IN). Pours a nice dark amber, brown notes, a bit more orange at the bottom with a spotty offwhite head that dies to a film that clings to the edges. Just a bit hazed, just darker. Aromas are sweet caramel malts, a touch of toast, vanilla, faint cocoa, and bread. Sweeter. Initial is medium bodied, a bit lighter than expected, caramel and toffee blend with vanilla, grains, a touch of toast, and a sweetness, possibly a touch of dark fruit. A bit thin for the style, the malt is the focus as it should be, but this is just a bit underwhelming in flavor and body for the style. Ok, one of the more dissappointing when compared to style. 1/2 growler courtesy of stfun. Pours ruby red with a tan head. Smells of soap, caramel, metallic. Tastes of sweet malt, orangey, earthy, tangy. Average. danielcurtis81 (1519) - San Diego, California, USA - SEP 1, 2010
Sampled on tap at the brewery. The appearance is darker amber. Light malts and a touch of caramelization. Mouth feel a bit light. This one didn’t really do it for me. mlunger12 (645) - Orlando, Florida, USA - DEC 17, 2010
Pours a need ruby, nice head that dissolves pretty quickly, aroma is weak, taste is weak, not sweet, a little malt bitterness. But I like the can.
