This draft brew from the brewery poured a medium sized head of foamy finely sized off-white colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a transparent typically carbonated golden brown colored body. The mild aroma was nutty. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish. The nice flavor contained notes of nutty and brown malt. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again. Draft at MacNiven’s.
Poured a clear brown color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate toasted malt and earthy aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium toasted sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration.
Smooth and drinkable beer that is more like a brown ale. fata2683 (2176) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - JAN 16, 2011

Nose of chocolate, caramel, light earthy notes. Moderately sweet and malty nose. Pours brown with a thin non lasting head and no lace. The flavor is chocolatey with caramel sweetness, nutty notes, and a slight bitterness. Moderately sweet and malt forward. Easy to drink but unspectacular. On tap at St. Elmo. Pours a deep ruby/caramel with a thin, near tan head that leaves lacing. Aroma has soft notes of caramel, bread, and fruity esters. Taste is balanced. Caramel, fruit esters, slight bread. Medium body and carbonation. Clean and creamy in the mouth. Overall very drinkable with caramel and an English yeast taste. slowrunner77 (12139) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 23, 2014
"I love me some scotch ale when the weather starts to turn, and while this is a nice enough brew, a wee heavy it is not. 5.4%, and you can tell. Slight earthy hops, dark fruit, caramel, and maaaaybe a hint of peat. Pretty good, but I was hoping for a standout." northropfrye (3643) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - JUL 1, 2015

6 oz. from a pint can; from Keg Liquors (Clarksville). Aroma: Moderate almonds; moderate toast; a touch of tootsie roll. Appearance: Copper brown with soft carbonation holding up a scant tan head. Flavor: Combined malt notes with more chocolate for the duration; a light leaf tobacco hop presence comes out near the finish, which is semi-dry. Palate: Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation, abrupt finish. Overall: Nice beer, and close enough to session strength to enjoy a few.
