enjoyed the weekend of RBWG 2011on tap at Tops, pours thin black with a thin tan head. Aroma is roast with a thin almost medicinal cherry note. Flavor is rich roasted malts, oats, semi-sweet cherry ending very clean. Not bad at all. dionysus (1486) - Portland, Oregon, USA - MAR 10, 2011
On tap @ Tops. Pour is red/black with a khaki head. Aroma shows notes of coffee, roasted malt, dark chocolate, and red berries. Flavor shows the same with additional notes of oak vanilla and the cherry actually becomes more apparent than the nose. Overall body is moderate and finishes with roast malt/dark chocolate bitterness. Savvy1982 (1706) - Lethbridge, Alberta, CANADA - MAR 8, 2011
Draft at Taste of Tops. Pours semi-opaque black, thin tan head, weak lacing. Nose is sweet roast and sour cherries, nice coffe notes as this beer warms. Flavours of cherry, cocoa nibs, medium to lighter-bodied for an Imperial Stout. Nice. I’d have this again. DaSilky1 (2608) - San Diego, California, USA - MAR 3, 2011
Draft @ taste of tops, tempe, AZ. Pours pretty dark, hard to tell if black or daek brown in this light though. Thin head but poured to the top of a pint glass...is that necessary? Chocolate covered cherry in the nose, some cherry sourness creeping around in the background as well. nose is nice...nice full chocolaty sour cherry. Flavors again bring back some nice vivid chocolate and cherry...practically a clone of a nice chocolate covered cherry with some fairly unshy hop bitterness to back things up. Just sweet enough to bring out those chocolaty malts and that sour cherry...pretty bitter actually but I don’t personally find it too much of a distraction. Nice beer, better than I was expecting. Warming alcohol warmth..growing bitterness actually. playitbybeer (118) - San Diego, California, USA - MAR 3, 2011
On tap at taste of tops in tempe, pours a pitch black with a very small thin head. Smells like chocolate, cherries, vanilla, alcohol, and caramel. Taste is very bitter hops, cherry, chocolate, coffee, and roasty malts, I definitely get more cherry and chocolate as it warms up and a bit less bitter. aftertaste is very bitter and warming. Maybe I’ve had too much salt today but all I really get is bitterness.

On tap; poured a very dark black with not much head. Aroma of cherry, alcohol, vanilla, roasted malt, cocoa, and caramel. Flavor was initially quite complex and it worked. Cherry, sweet, caramel, cocoa and fruit. Really good. bu11zeye (13215) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - JAN 2, 2011
(Draught) Pours a black body with a spare tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, cherry, vanilla, coffee, and chocolate. Flavor of cherry extract, vanilla, roasted malt, raisins, chocolate, and sassafras. Messy. SuperDave (2555) - Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA - JAN 2, 2011
Deep black-red pour with a small ring of head. Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee and dark fruit. Flavor is dark chocolate, roast and cherries on the finish. Really nice brew! Now bring me my food! hellbilly (3306) - scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA - DEC 26, 2010
Dark orange black, opaque but not thick. Trim orange tan head.
Aroma is huge on the coffee... Secondly are roast, lactose, dark cocoa, woody oily vanilla and tart vinous-like fruit which I will assume is the cherries.
Flavor mirrors but is far from sweet.nice tannic bitter finish and defined dark cherry goodness.
Medium bodied... Actually, quite thin and crazy quaffable. Chocolate covered dark cherries...mmm. 8/4/8/4/16/4+ daknole (11402) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - DEC 23, 2010
Dark pour. Tam head. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla, cherries, coffe and roast. This beer was brewed with cherries, vanilla and cocoa nibs. Flavor shows vanilla and chocolate more than the cherries. Oddly bitter finish.
