Tap at Angels Trumpet. Christmas wasn’t on my ind considering its May and it was 100 degrees out earlier. Anyways gave it a shot and this pours a deep brown with nice head. tastes of roasted malts, coffee grinds, nuts, kinda doughy, grains and potting soil. creamy mouthfeel and a touch thin. was expecting some typical winter spicing but thats my own ignorance probably. savnac (2391) - Anchorage, Alaska, USA - JAN 21, 2013
Draft @ Sun Up. Clear brown with a small light tan head. Aroma of biscuit dough, chocolate and some walnuts. Flavor is doughy malt, nuts and a very mild bitterness. Medium body with a smooth mouth feel. Solid beer, smooth and malty. Ibrew2or3 (8660) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - JAN 7, 2012
Growler pours clear mahogany with tan head. The aroma offers up coffee like notes a good deal of roasty nuttiness and a hint or two of winter spices. The taste has modest roasted malt notes mixing with some coffee and earthiness. From time to time winter like spices are noticed too. daknole (11049) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - DEC 17, 2011

Tap at Pap. Deep brown pour with a small foamy head. Toasted malt and nuts, caramel and chocolate in the aroma. Similar, light flavor. Nice, but not amazing.

on draft and cask at the pub 12/14/2009.
dark root beer colored pour... the cask version’s head is obviously creamier and more fluffy than the regular draft. both are slightly off white.
the nose is full of mellow aromatic floral hops along with notes of earth, caramel and some toasted nuttiness. the cask sample is a bit more restrained.
oddly, the regular version seems to be much drier on the palate. both versions have flavors of coffee-like nuttiness, chocolate, grain, floral hops and a rootbeer. there’s a bitterness on the finish akin to nut skins and a nice grassy aftertaste.
a medium body and a crisp texture make it easily sessionable (4.3%abv was a guess from uwe)...7/3/7/3/15/3.5

On tap for the holidays at the brewery. Pours a thin black color with a ruby tint from the tap at the brewery. Smells and tastes of almonds, walnuts, mild smoke, and caramel. Lacking in cream, but well balanced and highly drinkable. A nice holiday brew. Bockyhorsey (2628) - Mesa, Arizona, USA - AUG 1, 2006
