COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This big boy, is the big brother in our portfolio with huge coffee, bittersweet chocolate, dark caramel, roasted grain, vanilla, sweet cream & dark fruits, like plum, raisin & prunes. The flavor is a huge burst of rich coffee & cream and dark unsweetened chocolate. The fruitiness from the dark roasted malts brings in the flavors of stone fruits & creates a full almost chewy mouth feel and plenty of body. The big alcohol of this brew creates nice alcohol warmth. Along with being a desert all by itself, White Russian will pair well with big flavored foods like duck, venison, wild turkey, goose, aged cheeses like Gouda, Parmesan or sharp cheddar. If dessert is more to your liking, pair with dark chocolate truffles, chocolate cheesecake, chocolate raspberry mousse cake or a double chocolate chip cookie. Yum!

Sampled at GABF 2017 in Denver, CO. Numerical rating only - did not take detailed notes, however, this was a stand out brew.

A decadent and incredibly flavorful RIS - especially for one where the abv is below 10% - where the flavors are clearly divided with vanilla first, followed by fruits (red berries and dark fruits) and ending with roasted malts, molasses and coffee. Tasty!

Can, brought back from Arizona by Lalitha. Nice pictures. Exploding foamy can. Dark black, beige brown foam. Quite aromatic, as suggested with flavours of coffee, lactose and a bit of vanilla. The beer actually takes something of a back position, most of the bitterness tastes like cold coffee rather than roasted malt. Not too boozy for abv. Interesting idea, but I’m not sure it was actually that nice, cold milky coffee is generally pretty unappealing, and I can’t see an occasion where I’d really want it again. But then I don’t drink any of the weird flavoured coffee drinks in cafes either.

Ar: Black licorice, dark cocoa powder, cherry, and vanilla; earthy coffee and slight smoke; a bit of milk and green pepper; dark caramel. Ap: Black and opaque; medium mocha head with moderate retention, leaves a thick ring of small bubbles and a cap of small and medium bubbles across the top. T: Sweet cocoa and vanilla with a smooth, rich coffee flavor; sweetness up front with cocoa, licorice, and burnt caramel notes; extremely rich; dank, piney hops with a high bitterness; some alcohol warmth, but very clean; milky and chocolatey on the finish, with highly roasted caramels and some ashy qualities lingering in the finish. P: Fully body with medium-high carbonation; finish is medium-sweet. O: This is an exceptional RIS; tons of complexity, remarkably rich and luscious; the coffee flavor melds wonderfully with the dark caramel, chocolate, and hop flavors; great mouthfeel and a long, satisfying finish.
