It is straw coloured and has a clean and dry flavour. Its balanced hopping and use of lavender from our garden makes for a beautiful floral aroma. This light and fresh ale is very moreish and a firm favourite with the Sunbeam Ales regulars.

Cask, half pint at The Old Bar, Leeds University. Lacing to the upper level of the glass. Hazy golden body. The aroma is dominated by lavender. Perfumed taste of lavender with honey sweetness beneath. Carries some interests and is possible to drink, not my kind of beer though (05.07.2015).

Bottle at Craig’s. Flowery lavender on the nose. Overpowering soapy lavender taste, interesting.

Cask @ Brewery Tap, Leeds. Hazy golden ale with a creamy head. Very floral in its nose, very much so in its taste too with hops evident but the lavender is dominant in its taste. However it is an acquired taste despite its very easy drinking texture.

Cask conditioned at York Beer Festival ’14. Gold with white head. There is certainly a flowery, lavender aroma to this leading to a very distinctive flavour. My front border in the garden is Lavender, not sure I want to infuse it in any beers, the honey is certainly distinctive too. Agreed this is a positive statement, unfortunately not for me.

Cask west riding dewsbury. Golden ok white head lacing. Aroma is strong lavender and ginger. Taste is same some honey sweeteness and ginger spice long dry bitter finish. Medium body. Really unusual and strong in taste and aroma v good stuff.

Lovely beer that retains its head in the glass, on drinking you get Lavendar then the honey comes along to create a full frontal assault on the palate, this Beer is well worth seeking out.

Slight haze on this gold beer, tidy white head. Palate is crisp and very dry. Lots of perfumey lavender. Mellow orangey citrus underneath. Finishes very dry with some hop bitter linger and lavender perfume. I like the unapologetic boldness of the Lavender but the palate is too dry.
