Keg @ Cafe Sara, Oslo. Pours dark with tan head. Nutty cocoa aroma. Taste has some initial green apple and nutty vanilla / marzipan notes that’s a bit offputting and hard to persist with. One more sip, and well, something not quite right with this. daje (4436) - NORWAY - JUL 16, 2016
On tap at Humlepupp Festival 2016. Black body with a small tanned head. Aroma of roasted malt, raisin and toffee, taste is semisweet chocolate with apples and roast, mild licorice. Fruity and bitter finish. A nice solid porter. Meilby (11525) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - MAY 4, 2014
Draught @ Sundbytunet, Jessheimborre_m (1697) - NORWAY - APR 26, 2014
Pours dark brown with a tan head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, cooked vegetable, green apples, chocolate and caramel. Taste is medium sweet and light to medium bitter with a long roasted finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.
Pours black with a creamy offwhite head. Laces the glass nicely, aroma of riasted malts. A nicely balanced and round without being overwhelming. abemorsten (3650) - Mosterøy, NORWAY - MAR 13, 2014
On tap at the brewpub. Pours a black body with a small light brown head. Dark fruits, burnt raisins on the nose and in the mouth, which adds dark chocolate. Medium to full bodied and smooth with roasted notes in the finish.

On tap @ Crowbar. A near black one with a small lacing off-white head. On the nose there is alcohol, dark sweet chocolate, bourbon (!?), wood and lots of dark fruits. I have to say it smells really good this thing! It’s about average on the carbonation with those small prickling bubbles. Good oily mouthfeel. Lots of the same thing going on in the taste as in the aroma: I get chocolate, cocoa, vanilla, and some white chocolate. It’s really nice this! 01.03.2013 Glouglouburp (6103) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 30, 2012
In short: A pleasant creamy well balanced porter. Good beer visionthing (5468) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - AUG 26, 2012
How: Tap at brewpub, a glass given to me by the brewer, not on tap on that day, thanks a lot Frank
The look: Very dark brown body topped by a small dark beige head with good retention
In long: Nose is only softly roasted, chocolate notes and liquorice. Nothing original in the aroma but it is rather bright and vibrant for the style. Round body, relaxed carbonation, silky mouthfeel. Taste is chocolaty (milk chocolate bar + cocoa beans), glazing sugars, some soft black liquorice candy, light dark fruits notes. Roast level is relatively low for the style which helps to create a silky creaminess sensation. I didn’t taste the hops per say but the beer didn’t feel sweet and the after taste was clean and without sweetness sticking around, so I guess the hops must work their magic in the shadows of the malts. All in all a pretty nice beer. My last of many beers at this brewpub, and it is weird how after drinking a lot of beer my body seems to totally forget about the earth rotation.
On tap at Grünerløkka mat- og mikrobryggfestival. Black with a beige head. Aroma of dark fruits, lightly roasted malt, coffee and chocolate. Sweet and fruity with a slightly bitter finish. Many thanks to Frank for a large sample of this one, nicely served in a snifter glass at the microbrewery. A firm, beige head covering a deep, ruby-red body. Fine lacework to the glassware. Aroma of dark fruits joined by a mild roastiness. Cocoa-like malts in flavour well balanced with red and dark fruits. Long-lived finish. A well-made, smooth and tasty ale (Jessheim, 08.05.2012).
