On tap @ the brewpub. Dark brown body, close to black with a small, dense off-white head. Very nice aroma of dark malt, coffee and chocolate. Flavor is sweet, medium roasted malt, some coffee and dark chocolate. Moderate bitterness. Fine body and a nice aftertaste where the bitterness is more present. Smooth and very drinkable. On tap @ Crowbar. A near black one with a small lacing off-white head. On the nose there is alcohol, dark sweet chocolate, bourbon (!?), wood and lots of dark fruits. I have to say it smells really good this thing! It’s about average on the carbonation with those small prickling bubbles. Good oily mouthfeel. Lots of the same thing going on in the taste as in the aroma: I get chocolate, cocoa, vanilla, and some white chocolate. It’s really nice this! 01.03.2013 abemorsten (3652) - Mosterøy, NORWAY - MAR 13, 2014
On tap at the brewpub. Pours a black body with a small light brown head. Dark fruits, burnt raisins on the nose and in the mouth, which adds dark chocolate. Medium to full bodied and smooth with roasted notes in the finish.

17.01.2012. On tap at the brewery. Black as the night colour with off-white head. Aroma of dark malts and notes of licorice. Dry bitter at first. Very little sweetness in this one. Very good flavours of malt and dry bitter chocolate. Good balanced beer.

From a 0.5 L bottle, transferred from keg. Thanks Frank. Pours a clear ruby-shaded dark brown, topped by a coarse medium-sized tanned head. Smell of sweetish nutty, roasted dark malts. A fine scent of red berries too. Gentle, deep sweet and sour-accented malt flavor. Caramel and pepper notes. Hint of jammy currants and a light spicy bitterness. Medium full. Juicy in the mouth. Complex, light fruity and malty ending. Good beer, good craftmanship. yngwie (17168) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - MAY 5, 2012
On tap at the brewpub. It pours a dark brown body under a beige head. Coffee and chocolate, some roasted malts and a hint of licorice. Soft and full-bodied on the palate. Lightly roasted, with chocolate and some chocolate and coffee notes. Full body, really smooth. Lasting finish. A really nice one, tasteful and well suited for relaxing times in your favorite chair. 120505 Geokkjer (7643) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - MAY 7, 2012
Pours dark brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of chocolate, licorice, caramel malt and some roasted notes. Flavor is sweet and malty with some licorice, caramel and chocolate. Medium body, soft carbonation. Rune (13350) - Tromsø, NORWAY - MAY 17, 2012
Many thanks to Frank for a large sample of this one, nicely served in a snifter glass at the microbrewery. A firm, beige head covering a deep, ruby-red body. Fine lacework to the glassware. Aroma of dark fruits joined by a mild roastiness. Cocoa-like malts in flavour well balanced with red and dark fruits. Long-lived finish. A well-made, smooth and tasty ale (Jessheim, 08.05.2012).
