On tap @ Flying Saucer Cordova. Poured straw gold with fizzy white head. Little hop presence in aroma and flavor. Clean and light to style, great lawnmower beer even if I doubt bottled would travel well

On tap at Gourmet Haus Staudt. Pours a bright clear yellow-golden color with a small white head. The aroma is rather grainy with pale malt and grassy hops. The flavor is similar, pale malt and grain with grassy hops. Not too much to it really. Standard palate, medium light body with average carbonation. Overall an above average kolsch, but I’ve had better for sure.

Bottle. Light golden body. Fizzy, white head, slowly diminishing. Aroma of grass, hay, toasted grain, herbs. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately bitter and lightly acidic. Light to medium body, watery texture and lively carbonation. Raw and grainy with a sweet, but slightly metallic, aftertaste along with a lingering bitterness. Not very clean.

Megvan benne a kellő maláta alapíznek. Kötelező megkóstolni ha az ember fia Kölnben jár.

Tasting from Dec’ 08.
Aroma is mildly wheaty, rusty with notes of baked sourdough and compressed yeast, pear drops and ripe strawberries. It pours beautifully golden and iridescent with whispy streams of small bubbles that rise up a flaccid, sudsy and messy white crown that is well retained and laces well. Good wads of toasted malts and sourish, tangy fruits greet the palate (lime, lemon, honeydew, green papaya, pear!), quite unexpectedly. Well rounded, creamy mouthfeel, quite full for style. Vanilla icecream, fresh, ripe pears, a little lime juice at the rear. Fruity tangy and softly bitter swallow with a herbal leafy contrast in the afterthought. Sweetness is assertive but it is generously balanced, harmonious. A very nice bottled Kölsch, very flavoursome! (50cL, 4.8% ABV, BBE 03/09, International Beer Store, W. Leederville)

0.5l Bottle. Pours a light yellow color with quickly diminishing head. Aroma is sweet with distinct grass and wheat flavors. Taste is surprisingly sweet on the front end with almost a sour apple flavor. Finishing is bitter hops with very strong wheat and cereal notes.

Geiserich (4659) - Linz, AUSTRIA - DEC 11, 2010
Draught: Pale golden color, low head, no carbonation. LIght grainy aroma, grassy hops. Flavor is light grainy/malty, some fruitiness, grassy hops. Astringent, bitter finish.

Bottle. Clear golden pour with a short lived, fluffy white head. Nose is grainy, yeasty and has a distinct aroma of wet cardboard. Flavour is also quite grainy, with a touch of sweetness, and has hints of citrus, caramel and spice. Mouthfeel is rather oily with soft carbonation and a lingering mildly bitter finish. Pretty ordinary although I do believe this could be better when it’s fresh.

Strykzone (7797) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - NOV 27, 2010
Clear golden brew with a white head. Light aroma is flowers and honey which also describes the flavor. Some faint pepper is noted as the beer warms and the beer gets a bit fizzy.
