330 ml bottle. L13168. BB 06/14. From alesbymail.co.uk.a_cross (639) - Poole, Dorset, ENGLAND - FEB 17, 2014
Came out of the bottle like a Vauxhall... or even quicker.
Clear deep golden colour with a small white head.
Homebrew yeast and hops in the aroma. A mess of yeast, sweet malt, biscuits and some hops. The flavour is a bit more enjoyable but still there’s quite a lot homebrew vibes there. Mild bitterness, sweet malt, biscuits and some hops there. So far I haven’t had a pleasant experience from Sunny Republic. Maybe some day...
Cask; gold, clear, thin white head; tropical fruit aroma; tastes smooth, some soft citrus - lemon, lime; moderate bitterness; prickly hops; this was a grower: a third of a pint in and I’d written it off as one-dimensional with a ’challenging’ hoppiness, but it opened out into something supple, mellifluous and moreish; more good, interesting stuff from an ever dependable brewery. Lighy bronze, very fruity English yeast, mild advertised, quite English, little bit juicy, no sign of the New Zealand hops.

Cask pint in the Lyric. Colour is chestnut brown to amber with a medium white foam cask beer head. Nose is fruity, soft ripe fruit, Vimto, grain malt, tropical fruit, mango and orange. taste is really soft ripe mushy tropical and citrous fruit with some musty grain and slightly fermented fruit. It’s quite sweet and thick on the taste. Not entirely sure about it. Idiosynkrasie (7967) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - JAN 8, 2014
330ml bottle. Clear amber colour with small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Cautious citrusy and slightly soapy hop aroma, hints of orange zest, a touch of overripe tropical fruit, juniper, some biscuit. Taste is bitter hoppy, more herbal than fruity, some juniper. Monotonous, no kick from the (rarely aromatic) hops - bad and boring IPA. McTapps (6976) - Reutlingen, GERMANY - DEC 28, 2013
Pours out of the bottle in a amber colour with low head and medium body. Nice aroma of hops and nuts. Taste of fresh but mild hops, nuts, pepper, herbs, oranges and thyme. Light body and light texture but nice anyway. Easy drink- and enjoyable. MichaelAwesome (6545) - Wanne-Eickel, GERMANY - DEC 28, 2013
Bottle shared with McTapps. Well, a bit watery and thun, but quite good work. Some hops mixed up with straw, hay and even sweetish caramel. Crazily deep with that low abv. kermis (14553) - The Hague / Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - DEC 25, 2013
Bottle. Pours clear dark golden with an off white head. Aroma of caramel, biscuity malt, light weedy and citrus hops. Flavour is light moderate sweet and light bitter. Missing any real hop character. Light bodied with light carbonation.
