If you like to be different and enjoy your beers a little maltier than our Blonde this is for you. A beautifully red hued ale with fruit and berry aromas. We are the first brewery in the world to brew with Hibiscus Flowers (Hibiscus sabdariffa). The hibiscus is designed to lift the drinkability of the beer and add to the red hue provided by the Munich and Chocolate malts.

On tap @ the Haymarket Bar, Edinburgh. Pours amber to red with a nicely proportioned head. The nose has an intriguing blend of biscuits, cake mixture and a building dried fruit note towards the end. The taste has more of the same but more going towards toffee and biscuits. The palate is medium bodied with a nice crunchy and tangy texture and an elegant finish. Overall, a lovely bitter.

On tap at the Raven, Bath. Deep amber brown colour with a tan head. Aroma and flavour has caramel and fruity, taste is light sweet to mid bitter finish.

Barleycorn, Hedge End. Strange aroma and taste - like rubber and grapefruit. Not sure if it’s supposed to be here. It’s a particular rubber - the slightly worn pink type. Weathered rubber. I find it difficult to assume the rubber is intended. There is chalk and dried yeast and apparently cat pee, but I don’t get it.

Cask @ Market Porter, Borough SE1. Pours a slightly hazy amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty caramel aroma. Fruity malty spicy caramel flavor with weak hoppy hints. Has a fruity malty spicy caramel finish.

Clear firm reddened body, whisked white cap of head. Gummy Farty fruit malt nose. Initial taste isn’t much different, uncooked sweetcorn thrown in. Cheap sweetcorn at that. Peering floral finish, dry sweet linger. This tastes like it’s been on two weeks too long?

Cask at Haymarket Bar. Pours a clear gold, nice white foam head. Biscuit and red fruit on the aroma, light bittersweet biscuity taste. OK, nothing special. Glad I couldn’t pick up the hibiscus to be honest, can’t stand the stuff.

Cask (?), Beer Emporium, Bristol, 17-18/01/14. Slightly dubious brilliant red. Still dour lightly nutty red flavour with cranberry suggestions. Low carb monkey nut and diluted flowers. Yoghurt stirred with pencils. Bwiooarrghhh .

Cask-conditioned at the Cornubia, Bristol 21/12/2013. Deep amber in colour with a slight white head. Caramell, red fruits, some orange peel and a touch of citrus hop, before a short finish. Ok.

A tale of two beers. Chocolatey smell and then the fruity taste. Tastes almost like honey. Big fan! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
