Freisian Pilsener
A modern take on a rare Pils variant. Historically having a bitter hop bite, this Friesian takes it one step further and builds on the German Spalt hops clean bitterness by adding a citrusy-pepper bite from the NZ Pacific Jade. Lagered (cold conditioned) for three whole weeks and finished off by running it for 24 hours through Australian Citra hops in our Sierra Nevada style hop torpedo. Available in 9-gallon casks. Malt: Low Colour Pale & Lager Malt Hops: Spalt Select, Pacific Jade & Citra

Theydon_Bois (21484) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - AUG 28, 2014
Cask at GBBF ’14, day 5, 16/08/14. Clear golden with moderate off white edgework. Nose carries astringent bitter notes, spice, lightly burnt vegetables, citric tones, straw. Taste comprises bready notes, light spice, citric peel. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close. A little muddled, pretty mediocre but just about drinkable.

Not good

Benzai (16928) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - AUG 18, 2014
Sampled @ GBBF. Clear yellow color, small white head. Smells bad, puke, plants and cardboard. Taste isn’t much better either, though fortunately the puke isn’t there. Crappy one.

Niall73 (2459) - Ontario, CANADA - AUG 16, 2014
Pours gold. Light vinegar and egg in the aroma. Light body, light carbonation. Insipid and pukey. Poor.

harrisoni (19553) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - AUG 15, 2014
At GBBF 2014. Clear gold lasting white head. Terrible aroma. Almost made me vomit. Bottom of barrel horrible.

mR_fr0g (14028) - Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - AUG 12, 2014
Cask at the 2014 GBBF. Aroma is vinegar, cider vinegar oxidised. Golden coloured with no head. Flavour is tart apple, fink, stale grains. Palate is flabby and dull. Pretty poor.

GuideDogSaint (1811) - Xiamen, CHINA - AUG 6, 2014
Cask at the Running Horse, Leatherhead. Pours golden with a white head. Aroma hazelnut, grass and cabbage. Sweet finish.

imdownthepub (15525) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - JUL 20, 2014
Cask conditioned at The Market Porter, Borough Market, London. Yellow gold with white head. Light, slightly watery, grainy, malty beer, thin on the palate, no real shark bite to this unfortunately. Fairly average.

a_cross (639) - Poole, Dorset, ENGLAND - JUL 5, 2014
Very pale, thin white head; this was ultra-crisp, clean malt, cereal, lemony tinge; really clean tasting; way, way better than most lagers.

dynamiteninja (1932) - Leicestershire, ENGLAND - NOV 27, 2013
Cask at York Tap, York. Medium white head. Clear gold body. Red fruit, wheat, white sherbert, lemon, citrus, grass, herbs, pine resin. English hops. Black tea, minerals, beef, yeast. Bittersweet. Weird, dirty finish. Creamy mouthfeel.
